I haven't read through everything yet but just by that comment I'm assuming you are out of warranty, it's a shame because if you were in warranty they probably would've looked right past that sound and sent the truck on its way.Newest cluster Ford update:
So lots has happened over the last couple weeks. Last week I spoke with service idiot and requested a new timing chain since engine was apart. Waited to see if it was going to cost me anything. Advisor finally called me back this past Monday. They weren’t going to charge for labor but I was going to pay for chain. But then she tells me that all the parts are in and if I want a new timing chain it was on back order . I told them to just get my truck back together. I thought that it would take a couple days to reassemble truck since it was already torn down. Well I never heard back and went to dealership today to see what is going on. So she tells me my truck is finished but when the tech went for a test drive he heard a strange noise coming from motor. Now I have to wait until tomorrow for tech to test drive truck again but with another person that is supposed to affirm this noise. She said the tech thinks I’m going to need a new short block but will confirm tomorrow. Anyway this is long enough and I’m disgusted with the whole situation so I’m just going to leave things right here for now.
Sounds like she's in the wrong position, either that or she's fairly new.Another update in the saga of getting truck repairs. Went to dealership today again because I didn’t want to wait on phone call that probably wasn’t coming. She was out to lunch so I talked with another service advisor that was awesome. He did some research and found that the tech had determined that I was going to need a short block. He went through the complete parts list required for the changing of the block and found that there was only 3 gaskets that were on back order. Everything else was easily accessible. He made a note that he placed on other advisors computer for her to contact me today concerning any issues. He also told me that if I did not hear from her by 3PM today that I could call him. He gave me his card that had his cell number and email address and told me to contact him directly. I am considering calling the dealership and talking with the service manager and requesting that the other person take over the job from the initial advisor. Otherwise when I get the survey for the service I will really smash the person that is not doing their job. she provides no communication, doesn’t return emails or voicemails and I’m over working with her. I really don’t care if it is a man or woman doing the job I just want to be treated right. It’s been 31 days my truck has been at dealership and she has called me once. I have had to constantly call and email to get any updates and the updates I do get are incomplete and wrong. I will give a prime example. So yesterday when she is telling me I may need a new short block she adds in that they won’t be paying for the rental any longer. She says I will have to pay out of pocket for the rental. I was totally flabbergasted and asked her what makes her think I’m going to pay for their screw up. So she starts mumbling to herself and says that she needs to verify some information. She starts shuffling papers around and scrolling through pages on the computer. She tells me that she needs to go talk to her manager and check on things. She comes back about 5 minutes later and says for me to disregard all the stuff she said about them not paying for rental and everything is good with rental. I’m just standing there like what the heck is going on with this person. does anyone think it’s wrong for me to want to request that someone else handle things going forward?
