Wife is in the market for a used large SUV. We have 5 children between 3-14. So we need a full size.we had an Escalade ESV which had tons of power and towing capability but had its own problems so now need something newer. Wife wants another Escalade but I'm being hesitant on it. A lot of forums are saying Expedition MAX. I'm not a any brand fan boy. Just want something reliable that can handle snowy unplowed roads in the winter and not be a maintenance nightmare. I have the capability to do most anything to a vehicle but just don't desire to chase problems in a bad designed vehicle. Any suggestions to either or any full size?

How used? Beyond drivetrain factory warranty? It'd be reassuring to know that an expensive used vehicle without a known history comes with some insurance, if you know what I mean.
