So its about 0400 here in Germany and I had to head to my house from work to grab something.
Well apparently while I was working it became an Ice Skating Rink on the roads.
The FX4 was slidding around a bit, but nothing to be worried about.
I happen to live at the top of a hill with a pretty steep grade and multiple sharp bends.
Going up isnt a problem, the coming down i was concerned about.

But with a push of a button...
I took my foot off the brake and made it down perfectly.
Hill Descent Control works!

I know there are many videos on the interent about it, but i never used it.

And I didnt make anyones house a drive thru, so im happy :)

I've used it a few times and I figured it would use a combo of the rear brakes and engine braking. It doesn't.....

So if using the brakes is too much of a job for a driver nowadays what else are they making "easier"?

I've used it a couple times. Both times it kind of made a "grating" noise. Have you guys noticed that?

I have only used it a few times but it worked perfectly, even on the freeway.

Is this some option I just don't have? I have never heard of it.

I'm used mine a lot lol it is really nice so you can focus more in the road and not worry about braking but it's is weird how your brakes you'll slide and hill descent doesn't.

You go 4 mph on the freeway????
Hey, I live in Los Angeles. Of course we go 4 mph on the freeway. My bad. I have a 2 wheel drive and I think what I have is called tow /haul mode.

The grating noise is your ABS pump working the brakes. I honestly think it's dumb to use just the back brakes to control a steep descent. The right thing to do would be to use a low gear and lightly apply the brakes.

We have a slight shortage of hills in Louisiana...

I did get a chance to use it last time I was at the hunting camp in Mississippi. I like it, but I'd much rather an "off road" mode that would let me keep my locker engaged at any speed for some dirt road fun. ;)
