I want to paint my factory grill this weekend...I noticed dozens of little clips that hold it on and they look like they break easily. Had anyone removed theirs? Any tips?

There's the 8/10 bolts and 5 clips that go into the hood. Once unbolted, I stuck a small clip pry bar wrapped in cloth between the hood and grille and slowly pried the grille off. The tabs can break, but won't really hurt it if you do happen to break them off.

there are just 10 metric bolts and 8 torx screws that hold my grill on but i also made myself a removal tool for the push pins and clips that are all over other stuff.

Couldn't I just use a flat head screwdriver? Is that split in the middle of that tool necessary?
