hello again i got my truck home started looking the engine over turns out im into it for a hole engine job i found a complete engine for a good price from a 2016 f150 will this fit my 2013? i need to be sure i dont have a ton of money any help would be great thank you
Pretty sure it should be the same engine, they didn't change the engine until 17. If you keep all your original harnesses and plenum should drop right in.

I sent my head off my old engine to get refurbished this morning and everything that can be interchanged from the new head off the new motor o well!
Did you ever figure it out? I'm currently in the middle of putting my 2011 head back on my 2014 motor. I tried everything with bo luck with the old head even a new pcm. No luck witch brings me to the only thing that is different the head.. so I will slap it on and let ya know the results!

From 2011 to 2015 is nearly the same besides passenger side head. The newer 3.5s are much different. They have a dual timing chain setup and much different heads. They have roller rockers in them unlike the older ones that use buckets. So no I do not think the newer motors will work in your truck! Hope this helps feel free to dm with other questions 😊

I put my 2011 passenger head on my 13-14 new engine, I've put 4k miles with no problems, runs great, I can punch it at 35 and it will smoke em! No check eng. Or any other problems! Good luck!

If you say so. I wouldn’t know. I only know the 11-12 engines are the same and the 13-14 engines are the same.
2011 to 2014 are the same engine only difference is the passenger side head, 13-14 they put a mechanical brake booster vacume on the passenger side head, 11-12 have electric brake booster vacume behind the passenger side headlight.

I had some questions.
1. when you swapped the passenger side head did you also swap everything from The 2013-14 head into the older 2011-12 head or was it just a plain swap of heads ?
2. Did you reuse the 2011-12 turbo or will it only work with the 2013-14 turbo ?
Any help is appreciated, thank you

Hi I kept everything on my original 2011 head, as some point before I bought my truck somebody had rebuilt that head so it looked new so I just swapped it I sold the new head from the 13-14 engine. I bought new 11-12 turbos for the swap, 13-14 turbos won't work on a 11-12. The 11-12 turbos will bolt directly to the 13-14 engine with no issues. Good luck!

Hey I’m stuck just did the complete process and did wire loom change bcm pcm and abs modules. I got the truck running and get no boost plus smoking white now. Sounded great when first started but has never had any power to drive on road gives underboost code. Most it’s will boost is maybe 2lbs. Any suggestions?

@F150 Zack what error codes was your truck throwing before you changed heads. I’m getting a p0340 and p0344 and am thinking me not changing the head is the issue to the 2012 model head @F150zack
If you’re trying to use a 2011/2012 engine with a 2013-2014 PCM, it will throw those codes because the passenger side cam position sensors are in different locations.

I am trying to run a 2013 engine in a 2012 truck. Changed to the correct sensors but still throwing codes
You have to swap the passenger head. The physical location of the cam sensors are different between the two. Other option would be using a 2013 calibration. But you would then need a few other changes made.
