Ford has released a new tune for the ecoboost.
Anyone know what has changed between the two?

There is a new calibration released for the cam phasers. It’s currently available for the 17-20 F150s and raptors. Not available for the expedition/navigator.

Regardless of symptoms they want effected years to be reprogrammed.

If I had to guess, they pretty much neutered the variable oil pump. As SUPPOSEDLY that’s been one of the big factors to the rattle.

No way!

While I always despised the ~25ish psi of the low setting, (on 5-30W), the ~65psi was pretty high for just idling or cruising no load. So if the rumor is true, they simply defeated the 12V signal from the pcm? (12V to the pump is low pressure setting)

After all that engineering and complexity to worship at the fuel efficiency alter, Ford just turns it all off? Amazing

Sorry, snakebitten, 2017 f150

Neutered the variable oil pump?
Interesting.
I hope they did nueter it.
I didn't like that when I realized the ecoboost 3.5 had a variable oil pump.
I often wondered if it had a hand in the phasers demise.
In my mind, it had to have a huge effect.
