Has anyone installed after market stereo in 2013 with the small screen and sync system ?? I'm not finishing an indash kit .... Well found one but it's crazy expensive and you have to leave the small screen installed , which is so bad but the stereo than ends up lower than normal reach ??

That's the only option right now and it would suck really bad having the screen that low.
Best bet is to use the factory unit, then get an oem integration unit(rockford 3sixty, jl cleansweep etc, some amps, speakers and subs.
This is what I will be doing to my 2013 xlt in the near future.

I'm hoping the come up with something better in the future ..... Wouldn't be. So bad if the leave the factory screen down low and the indash up more ... IMO ...... But thanks for the advice ! Where would u splice into the factory wiring ?

Well, that's the time consuming part of the install.
The wiring for the oem integration device will have to be run to both front doors and both rear doors.
You should be able to find the speaker wires before they go into the door wiring groments.
