I was just telling My wife that I was responding to a political thread on my ecoboost forum. She said what? I think one problem is that there’s no sports on right now, and there’s literally nothing to do now that we’re quarantined. So here we are having a pretty good discussion on the ecoboost forum, but if there were sports on I would have something to do at night. I can’t wait to get back to talking about our nice ecoboost engines and what we’re doing with our cool trucks!

I would like to commend all of us participating in this group thread for respecting each others views and IMO! Often times these types of back and forth threads get personal, someone get's their feelings hurt and all H ell breaks loose, so far I feel it has been very adult like "respect your view (post), but" (and respectfully counter)

like it, I'll hang around for awhile and par take some more!

Lol
Honestly, I can't BELIEVE I have participated in the conversation this much. And almost nobody who knows me would believe it if you told them.

Some would be skeptical that I even would know enough about the subject since I'm well known for having my head in the sand on politics.

It's just a sign that I have had WAY TOO MUCH time on my hands lately, for the obvious reasons. And, there's not been anything that so dominated the air and space since 9/11

At least in my air and space

The way I see it as a scientist, is at the population level. For a population to survive you need DIVERSITY. We need people who are smart, simple, complicated, empathetic, fearless, leaders, followers, social, anti-social, caring, eager, lazy and yes stupid. Our strength and resiliency as a species depends upon this diversity. We just need to appreciate and be understanding of others of a different flavor. I think the one thing that men all have in common is a desire to look after the tribe. We all have our families to look after, to reassure and protect. These are unprecedented times and something that will leave a legacy for generations to come. Despite our differences, we all inhabit the same planet, the same biosphere, the same resources. There is unity in that when faced with such a threat. 🤘

PSA - If you're truck is also in quarantine and not being driven, disconnect your battery or get a smart charger on it.

I've got nothing else to offer for this convo, lol.

Stay safe out there!
It funny you say that because my truck sat from Sunday to Saturday last week and barely cranked. The battery is 5.5 years old and tired.

Snake and I’m sure others want good, accurate non-political information about Covid-19. Ive been listening to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and he seems to go out of his way to stay with the current facts about the virus. Today’s 8 minute show talked about facts vs fiction. I found it informative. What say you?

Or just google CNN Corona Virus if you’re using another Chinese phone rather than Apple’s Chinese iphone! Lol

I can’t imagine not driving my truck for more than a week. One of my daily pleasures is getting in the truck and driving to work, listening to good tunes or something interesting or funny.

Funny thing today from home: Corona virus playlist:

“Don’t Stand So Close To Me” (The Police); “Dancing With Myself” (Billy Idol); “Life During Wartime” (Talking Heads); “Urgent,” (Foreigner); “It’s the End of the World as We Know It” (R.E.M.); and, of course, “The End” (The Doors).

I work from home. My wife was working from home 2x a week but now is full time. And now my son is not going to school. There is little reason for us to leave and, when I have, its been in my Lexus.

Sippin my morning brew.
Doing my routine, because I am what I call "boring and predictable" to my kids generation.

Checking in with my Ecoboost friends is obviously somewhere in that routine and this morning I have to admit that even I am BORED with Covid 19 life. Lol

My truck has sat longer than this current house arrest has lasted (so far) many times. It's not the battery I worry about. I'll fetch one if it's needed. Instead, it's the threat of those little creatures that live in the woods deciding the truck would make a good home for their nest. And even that wouldn't concern me as long as they don't consider my wiring harness something to floss with. :)

Oh they will use your wiring harness, they did mine. What was weird is, I drive every day and live in the middle of town. Oh well. That was months ago, all good now.
Still driving every day, HVAC service tech. Next Friday is my last day working, I'll join the rest of you guys soon;)

You might be right. However this is also a form of gaslighting, Making it seem like nothing is true anymore, that everything said is biased and there really is no truth, even the facts are not true because they are just your interpretation based on your inherent biases, idiosyncrasies, and proclivities. At some point you have to trust someone to give you unvarnished truth. One thing lacking by our current political leadership is trust and integrity.
To be fair, this isn't just the current leadership. This has been going on for a few different presidencies, both blue and red, and it's one symptom of a bigger problem. Witness all the people who are willing to trust an actress/porn star/loudmouth over some of the best medical professionals the planet has to offer about vaccinating their children.

It's pretty tough for me, but I work from home and the Wife is on Mat leave. If we do errands, it's usually in the X5. As much as I love driving my truck, I don't want to take it out for a 10 minute errand. It does more harm than good IMO. Thankfully, I had a "excuse" to go and pick up some wood and the Wife and kids came along (stayed in the truck), just to get out of the house.

With the AGM batteries being more sensitive to recovering from a discharge, I have a charger on mine whenever it's parked now. I added the AGM, because of accessory draw when I take the truck out camping.

I'm taking the time off to do some overdue maintenance on my truck. Need to change fluids - oil, front diff, transfer case. Then going to install new plugs and pull the rear blocks. So far our camping for summer hasn't been affected by park closings, but we'll see. With the communal showers/bathrooms I certainly expect they will start asking people to cancel. I don't think they can legally keep a campground with large groups of people open without operating facilities. Still a pretty fluid situation but we'll see. Completely on telework until May 1st so far..

If we get shut down, I hope to get my new downpipes on, if I can squeeze it in somewhere in the honeydo list. Lol

So no 100 MPH wheelies? You can’t even join my idiot club. How about the speed/death wobbles at 130 MPH? Wasn’t even my bike, I just assumed all liter plus big bikes were stable at that speed. My VMax was stable at those speeds that V65 Magna was not. I learned a valuable lesson that day. :)
I have parted out my VMAX instead of fixing it. Fun bike but very scary. Besides, I made money instead of having to spend it.

My county is under a stay-at-home lockdown starting today, good for one month. Apparently I'm essential, so no vacation for me

Shoot driving my truck is the only thing that’s keeping me sane sometimes, especially now during all this.
There hasn’t been many days I haven’t grabbed the kid and taken at least a 45 minute drive whether running errands or just for fun.
I have no work commute and my 2019 which I bought last year March 20th brand new now has almost 15,000 miles on it.

One thing that I haven't seen mentioned in the news, is to refrain from risky behavior. If you get injured chopping wood or riding a motorbike, now is not a good time to need a hospital.
I hear you, and you're right. But no way am I going to quit riding my motorcycle.
