Lane centering settings

So I am having a frustrating time with the lane centering. Every time I set it to alert+assist it reverts to alert only the next time I start the truck. I actually turn it off most of the time around here because its a lot of rural roads that are narrow and its going off too much but the longer trips, especially at night I would like it to work without having to go back in and turn the assist back on. Not sure if it is something to do with mykey or what. Any insight on how to make the setting stick? It works fine when I manually turn the assist on.

Hmmmm
It's not a common complaint. I mean lane centering settings reverting on their own.
But you stated earlier your APIM version and it's not current, so it makes me hopeful that once your various modules are updated that it might address this anomaly?

I always have adaptive cruise and lane centering engaged from the steering wheel controls. I too live rural and have many road conditions that result in the system "canceling" lane centering automatically, and then re-enable it automatically when conditions trigger it to.

Or put another way, I just drive and the 1 million lines of code determine when my copilot is participating or not. Since I'm the chief pilot, my hands are always on the wheel anyway. After a few thousand miles I can feeeeel when he's there and not. And it's my decision of the amount of influence his inputs are allowed to have moment to moment.

We're buddies now. A team. It took awhile for me to approach it that way. I needed to get to know him and build a trust relationship. :)

Having said that, I only tell him he has the helm when the road conditions are the kind he has proven to be good at his job. Lol

A software update would make sense as long as there is nothing I need to do to "save" things to the mykey stuff.

As for the lane keep assist in the passenger seat. I need to shut that one up for once... OMG its horrible after getting back into a truck lol. Waze dinging on speed and that alert goes off from the passenger seat on the highest setting. Hit the fart strip? You would have thought I was randomly doing donuts in a corn field. lol... Good thing she's cute.

Mine only works when the cameras can detect the center painted line and right side road line. If they are obscured with snow or wear, it does nothing. I tried it on a well marked twisting road, and it did cross the center line a couple of times. My passenger side lane keeping assist wasn't present at the time. :p

This little fella is what I watch

It's green, and I can feeeeel the wheel being weighted. (that weight, I believe can be increased/decreased in Sync?)

It's not green, I'm the only pilot in the cockpit with the wheel. Although throttle and brakes still are assisted.

Yeah in the new one the vibrating alert kinda freaked me out the first time. With assist turned on you can feel the steering wheel turn slightly. There is 3 "intensity" levels you can select from. Monday I have a marathon trip to take. Daughter has a doctor appointment 4 hours from home. Gotta leave at 5am, drive up, 30-45m appointment, drive home. Trips like that I definitely want it as I will be wrecked by the time we get home. Also make a yearly trip from WI to Memphis for more appointments and thats another one with 4 days with 6 hours behind the wheel over the course of 5-6 days. Easy to get tired and lose focus. Gonna clear the mykey when I get off work and see if that does the trick.
