I’m having an internal struggle with a new tire set up on my 2020 Lariat w/ Black Appearance Package… 22s and 33s OR 20s and 33s. I’m looking to stay in the positive offset also, no more than 0mm.

I’d love to hear your opinions and more importantly… SEE PICS!!! Show me your glorious rigs and let me know your pros / cons of having the set up you have now. Or things you would do differently now.

What is your priority? Looks? Performance? On-road or off? If it's on-road performance, the 20's would almost certainly be lighter weight than the 22's - that'd be my personal main consideration.
For looks, though, I like the larger wheels for sure.

Stock suspension (Un-leveled) with Ford OEM Limited 22's.

If I were to purchase tires, I'd mount a bit more sidewall than is there now. And once Fox figures out the 2021, I will re-valve and respring (if necessary) my 2.5 DSC off my 2018. I don't think I will lift the front but MIGHT lower the rear a little.

Right.

So as of now, I’m on a 2.5” leveling kit and have the stock 20” sport rims with the factory +44 offset. She’s a city truck FOR SURE lol. I don’t ever see myself needing to off-road her for any reason. Maybe some light towing from time to time. But it’s mostly for looks. I want a more aggressive stance. Have that “poke.”

I think I’m leaning towards 22s on 33s. I guess Im ultimately looking for pictures of otherF150 set ups and hear of any “I wish knew… before getting these” stories.

Full disclosure :

I always have 2 sets of tires/wheels for the truck to cover in case the mission requires it.

I won't tow any of the RV's with those 22's above. At least not for a long trip. Instead, I'd throw the factory 20's back on with some appropriate tires.

(Unlike the King Ranch, I loath the OEM 20's on the new Platinum. "Loath" might be strong, but they are incredibly boring for such a high trim level)

20x10 wheels at +12 offset, with a 305 tire. Definitely got the poke I was looking for - and quickly realized that, with the windows down, it's a real hazard! Second time a rock went whizzing through my hair was enough for me, and had to put the fender flares on there.

22s just don't belong on a leveled/lifted truck. Even 20s are questionable if you ask me, but with a 285/60/20 look okay.

Damn! That’s crazy!

That’s kind of a difficult statement to back up when most of these trucks are coming from the factories already on 20 and 22 inch rims as the stock option. Mine came on 20’s.

That's because 90% of buyers use them as mall crawlers. If you read my statement it mentions nothing about stock vehicles...

If you lift/level your truck and put rims on it that can still get curb rash and would be horrible off-road, then what's the point of lifting/leveling?

Well, if you actually read my original question, you would have realized that it is about putting my daily driver on new 20s or 22s. Not some super swamper off-road set up. I simply want a new rim and tire combo on her because… well… I can. To avoid looking foolish in the future, you might want to brush up on your reading comprehension. Nothing worse than someone who chimes in off topic, making up statistics.

All I'm suggesting is that the most usefulness and optimal look out of a leveled truck won't come from 20s or 22s. Why do none of the big 3 put them on their off-road versions (raptor, trx, zr2, etc.)?

If you're gonna get your panties in a twist over someone's opinion on the interweb then why bother asking. Do with YOUR truck what makes you happy and who cares what anyone else thinks.

Hope if turns out how you want.

I asked for feedback about a very specific thing. If you don’t have anything relevant to bring to the table on that very topic… then you might not want to chime in on a “leveled on 20’s or 22s” post Jabroney. If and when I decide to have a discussion on an off-road set up, I’ll call my local overlander specialists… certainly not you. Don’t go away mad, just go away.

305/55r20 leveled with Eibach/Bilstein. Love this setup!

Apples to oranges, but on my last truck I ran 22” wheels on a 285/55r22 (35”) Nitto Trail Grappler.

Love your truck! You have a great foundation to build on and make it your own.

You just had to post it. Lol

THAT truck wears 22's better than any truck I have yet come across.

Wanted the Toyo open country at3 in 285-55 20 for my stock 20s but they were sold out across the country last year. I went with the 305-50 20 and I'm kinda glad I did. I do want some wider wheels with a little more poke though. About a 2.5" level up front and 1.5" in the rear.
