I noticed a lot of people asking when to service items on their trucks.
This write up provides Ford's recommendation for all fluids and belts. If it was my money and time, I'd use this as an upper limit to what is required. Always check the condition as often as possible, replace as necessary.
Other maintenance items
Every 30000 miles
(48000 km)
Replace climate-controlled (heated and
cooled) seat filter (if equipped).
Replace engine air filter.
Every 97500 miles
(156000 km)
Replace spark plugs.
Every 105000 miles
(168000 km)
Change engine coolant.*
Inspect accessory drive belt(s).**
Every 150000 miles
(240000 km)
Change automatic transmission fluid and filter.
Consult dealer for requirements.
Change front axle fluid (Four-wheel drive
vehicles).
Change rear axle fluid.
Change transfer case fluid (Four-wheel drive
vehicles).
Replace accessory drive belt(s) if not replaced
within the last 100000 miles (160000 km).
*
Initial replacement at six years or 105000 miles (168000 kilometers),
then every three years or 45000 miles (72000 kilometers).
**If not replaced, inspect every 15000 miles (24000 kilometers).

This is good information to share,
But.. something I wanted to bring up with the big boys on this forum, maybe find away to make it a (sticky) so all the new EcoBoost guys coming here will get a better sense on why these trucks are so strong, and why they have problems .

-It seems to me from the research I have done over the last year( a **** ton...metric, that is?) that a huge part of the problems our trucks are facing come down to maintenance intervals. ( ford has built an amazing motor, built with super tight tolerances. But it is telling it's customers to not do any maintenance on it for extremely extended time periods) those extended maintenance schedules ( in my opinion) are at the route of a large part of the problems these motors have) ( dirty oil being a big 1)
(Lack of being in boost, another, dont baby it!)( yes I know, not maintenance related, but good to know)
-I would think the mechanics that aren't dealer oriented, would agree, these intervals seem like a great way to get customers to buy a new vehicle after trashing their 5 year old truck.
- it also seems logical to try and share with fellow ecoboost owners this important bit of info.

<< these trucks like to be in boost, driven hard. BUT.... maintained like a race car. Dont go by fords intervals,.

- perhaps some of you fellas that have put serious work and miles in/on your trucks could share( real) intervals with the group, ( sticky eh..eh..) ,

And if I am beating a dead horse here, my apologizes a head of time.
