I’m about to place an order for a custom tune from ZFG… Im just a tad worried because it’s a lot of money and I’m not sure I would like his tune or not… it’s kind of a gamble.

Did another 0-60 last night with a new tune from Unleashed.
0-60 in 5.08 seconds
0-30 in 1.84 seconds
Not too bad, I really want a sub 5 second run though!
Get your butt back out there,,,, lower your tire PSI, a lot less fuel in the tank and pick up that ,08,,,,,,,, And don't come back until you do!!! Lol

But I would go with less fuel the better approach and lower the tire pressure to stop some of that wheel spin and pick up some precious time on your quest to sub 5....

Might of missed it, but who's tunning your E85?

Ok, so I had a bit of time and was talking to @SrpRacing the other day and he got a message back from the ford engineers in regards to the swirlers. I don’t know if he wants to share the info here on a new thread or not, so I won’t say what the engineer said, but basically I immediately threw the stock inlet tubes back on and the swirlers to record some data.
And while I was at it took a look at both compressor wheels to see how the stage 4s are doin. Looking pretty good.

After throwing the swirlers back in and stock inlet tubes I thought I’d gain some throttle response, but not overly. Maybe a tad. I did notice a bit more low end torque, and the turbos were quieter which I did not like. The reason they were quieter I believe is because they were more efficient and I noticed more surge at lower shaft speeds because I think throttle was sensing more air than requested and so it was closing more, causing more surge.
Image

After running them I just wasn’t impressed with my loss of turbo sound, (wasn’t too bad, I could still hear them pretty well, just not as much as I was) so I removed them. However, I figured out a way to put the swirlers into the AMs tubes and am headed out right now to try them out.

For sure, but my 19 has them.. I removed them when I installed my COBB and AMS Inlet tubes..... Based on BoostkingMatts post I put them back in today, even know I should have the redesigned turbos....... Going to log a hit right now and then send the log to BoostKing to compare to last weeks log..... Then load my latest's revision, commute tomorrw and make a new hit tomorrow night.

@boostkingMatt

What's the updates on the tunes from your tuners in relations to the truck?

Ah, I’ve got two tunes awaiting me, but I’m in Moab right now, rock climbing and doing all kinds of stuff so I haven’t tried them yet. I’ll write something up once Boostkings tunes are finished.

In case y’all haven’t heard, I’m going to move to Denver in mid November this year.

I drove past Bandimere Dragway today, and it looks like an awesome place. Definitely want to go there from time to time, and I’m sure @Upshifter would like to come.

I am going to be switching to an Ethanol blend, either e30 or e50, whatever is safe without needing a booster pump. It’s about 2000’ lower than where I live now, so I will get more power for sure and need some adjustment to my tunes. Can’t wait to break some hearts at the drag strip!

You just don’t hear people say this, ever!

Seems like I’ve been not doing much with my truck lately, and that’s partly true… no mods or anything, but…. I’ve been working with Brett to get this tune dialed in, and it’s proving quite challenging.

Keep getting overboost codes when I try to do 0-60 times.

However, I have broken all my 0-30 records and 60ft records.

Previous 0-30 record I had was 1.76, new record is 1.69

Previous 60 ft record was 1.91, new record is 1.88

Ok, ran Torries tune on my new favorite 0-60 road.
Dragy was invalid due to low satellite, but I calculated the 0-60 in the datalog which always runs slower than dragy because, well, idk why. Could be because Torrie uses so many PIDs that there’s a delay, I have no idea. I’ve compared before and dragy is always faster by a little less than half a second.
The calculated 0-60 was 4.58 seconds.
Anyway, here’s the video, just so you can’t say I’m lying.

So when I “calculated my 0-60” in the previous post, I don’t think that was correct.

I checked and the datalog is only off by .12 seconds compared to dragy. So, my 0-60 was more like 4.65 seconds on Torries tune.

Ran Brett’s tune today. Was nice and cold, 41 degrees out. First run, 4.82 seconds, and there was some kind of power dip around 45 mph that’s visible in the dragy graph.
It hit 6700 rpm, which scares me, so I’m asking Brett what’s up with that.

Got around to installing all new brake pads and got the front rotors resurfaced.
Image

This is a pic of the rear pads. The front ones had more than half pad life left, the rear was literally gone. Seems kinda backwards

Then I finally got around to installing my O2 extenders from SPD.

Seems like these trucks wear rear brakes quicker than fronts. Possibly due to the brakes being integral to rear wheel slippage controls?

Nah, from all those hard stopping times after boosted launches....Lol Kidding
