Why not.. come one already.... how hard can it be
It’s so difficult. Dropping the tank, swapping the fuel pump. There’s so many things I ran into I won’t bore you guys with them all, but it was so frustrating. And I’m so frustrated that the truck isn’t back together.

Just bustin on you... I know these aren't the easiest jobs, and laying under a truck on stands, even worse

Does anyone know how exactly I’m supposed to do this?

Sorry man.... I've done a couple fuel pumps and they were awful enough being a straight up maintenance job - no messing with pulse width modulation or ECU tie ins.

Are you talking about that PWM wiring part?

Looks like a couple folks have done DW pumps, hopefully have some advice!

Yeah it’s a pain. Yes I’m talking about the PWM. I think there’s a wire I can use that goes to the FPDM?
As mentioned I have no experience or expertise here, but just offering a 2nd set of eyes, the instructions say the YELLOW wire w/ Orange stripe for FPDM is sandwiched between the fuel tank and underside of bed? Presumably near the pump in the wiring harness? Could it be hiding with others wrapped in some tesa tape, etc.?

Hey guys, I finally finished the low pressure fuel pump. No leaks so that’s good. I did notice that when I turn the key, the fuel pump primes and keeps priming however long I have the key on. I’m assuming it is ok?

Also the high pressure pump sponsored by XDI came today!

I know. I just need to make sure I wired this pump right cuz it doesn’t stop priming when I turn the key to on.
You back on the road bro?

Yes. But yesterday I tried to install the hpfp from XDI but they sent me the wrong pump. It’s for the 3.5, so I had to put the stock hpfp back.

If it makes you feel any better, I had to do my in tank pump twice because I was dumb and bought the pump for a 26gal tank the first time around.

I think you meant careless, not dumb.

I think he meant how he felt. 😉

Yeah, I looked at the part description, read it, and ordered it. Then saw it was shorter when I pulled the old one out. Went back and looked again and had a Homer Simpson moment.

I’m certain you are right @snakebitten . I’m just making sure he knows we don’t think he’s dumb.

I'm fine with others thinking I'm dumb as well 😆

Side note, if anyone needs a very lightly used OEM Ford 26gal pump...

I have some interesting news guys.

I’ve been chatting with Andrew at CRP, discussing a set of larger custom turbos for me. I know, I already have large turbos, don’t laugh, but we are pushing them fairly good, about 20 psi, but they aren’t at their limit. However, I don’t want to be that far into their limit.
Also, the main reason I inquired is because I do feel like they peeter out on the upper end (at higher speeds).
If you look at guys at sea level on bigger turbos, their trucks keep accelerating with the same acceleration through the whole speedometer. Mine on the other hand begins to slow down at about 95mph. That is due to the turbos.
Anyways, the cool news is,

Andrew told me he hasn’t had a lot of time to look into it, but a quick look told him a 48mm inducer might work. He said they might merge that with a 2021+ 3.5L upgrade as well but he didn’t have a ton of time at the moment due to order volume.

Anyways, just a piece of info about CRP and you 21+ 3.5 guys, might be getting some pretty large turbo upgrades coming!
