But my impatience might get the better of me. Can always do the old swaparoo 9000 with some different turbos later on.

I thought you were going to leave this new truck alone.
I wasn’t going to. But when I considered how much money I’d spend getting a separate truck to drive and modify, that idea went out the window.
I really just want bigger turbos for the sound, not the power. Also I need YouTube content and that will give me a lot. This time around is different because I may actually have some partnerships in building a short block for the truck good for 1500hp. But we’ll see. The larger turbos does not mean I will be doing 600hp or anything. When I say I don’t want to blow this truck up I mean that. Getting larger turbos does not mean I am going to blow it up. I just can’t help myself and I just love working on these trucks.

Well, I ordered a set of turbos from EBay! Can’t wait to check out the turbos and see how different they are. Will send them off to CRP

Did anyone have a pool going on this? Who is the winner? 🎲🎲

I'm glad to see you doing this - I too live vicariously through your build(s)!
Well before you guys get your pants all wound up, I will say, I do NOT want to blow this truck up. We will not be pushing much power from the turbos. Like I said, it’s just for sound and YouTube content. Plus I feel like I have to get into the trucks engine bay to some degree or it doesn’t feel like my truck.

Guys I’m super stoked about this. I took a peek in my 3.5 engine and she is not stained at all! Looks gorgeous. She’s gonna get 3000 mile oil changes the rest of her life and will look just like my 2.7 did at 100k

I just saved you $$ and heart ache,,,,,,,, and gave you the turbo sound....... and no doubt, you would get content as well

Broken but CLEAN!

Amazing what good maintenance looks like for the engine innards. Modern oils and fuels do a lot! KM

This was your 2.7 at 100k 😂

I know. But it was clean. And my turbo project on my red truck will be like your stage 3s on your truck. It’s lasted because you’re not pushing it. Same with what I’m gonna do. Not gonna push it at all. Wherever we end up on my 91 tune is where the new turbos will stay too.

True, but only at just above stock power levels.
