The stock tune 2022, according to the tattle tail, appears to be ~17psi?

Boost is always all over the place. I’ve seen 17 on my 2022 as well, but in the datalogs what happens is boost ramps instantly to 14-17 psi somewhere in there but by the time rpm hits 5800 or wherever it shifts, boost has fallen to 6 psi. And ford does that so that it doesn’t make too much power up there. With Brett’s tune, he didn’t increase max boost, he just let it keep boost around 10-11 psi at redline instead of 6 psi and it made another 50hp up there

I ordered everything I need for the turbo swap. Gaskets, studs etc.

I could not find the exhaust donut gasket that goes between the turbo and the downpipe like the 2.7 has. I thought maybe the 2.7 one was the same for the 3.5 but on fairway ford parts it only lists the 2.7. So I’m not sure if the 3.5 one is larger or what. I’ll just reused the gasket. Most of the time it isn’t in bad shape and can be reused easily.

I did see that the “catalytic converter stud” which is what ford calls it, where the downpipe connects to, it screws into the turbo. It’s the same exact stud now between 3.5 and 2.7. So you can use 2.7 studs on the 3.5 no problem. I have two extra 2.7 studs but I ordered 4 new ones just in case.

I’m pretty much all ready to go with the swap. Need to pick up some coolant as I’ll lose probably a gallon or so. But I might just save it, that’s what ive always done. Save it and reuse it.

Turbo inlet tubes from CVF arrive today and parts for the turbo swap arrive tomorrow. Turbos hopefully will be done and sent to me next week sometime.

Personally never weighed my truck but I have weighed my Mrs's 5.0 FX4 2013 and it was 6000 lbs. I thought that a newer F150 would be lighter.
That seems right for Matt's truck. Mine is pretty close to his weight wise, and it's 5282 with nothing in it and a full tank of gas. Add me, the aftermarket intercooler, not stock tires, and a few random things in the cab and I'm probably right there with him.

I’d like to weigh mine one day here and see I thought they’d be lighter. Maybe Matt’s like me and carries a lot of extra stuff because he looks like he would be maybe 180 lbs soaking wet

My tin can lariat screw was 5,860 at a dump scale with me, a couple car seats, bed mat, bed cover and little else. So probably 5,560 stock which is still along way from the 5,350 some odd lbs that yellow sticker math suggests (GVWR minus Payload).

For you guys with the big trucks,

That was with a Decked Drawer System tools and spare. Even 100+ pounds lighter now with a hard bed cover. KM

Haha, not quite 180lbs. More like 165, I’m only 5’8

Still can’t beat the weight of my old 2.7 supercrew of 5050 with me in it. That sucker was born to race.

I could probably get my 3.5 down close to that weight but I’d have to remove everything I did on my 2.7 and I’m not doing that with this truck. So, she weighs what she weighs.

I did get those turbo inlet tubes installed. They are really nice. A few issues that CVF is going to be fixing since these are prototypes but I love them.

I’m ticked off that my turbos still haven’t reached CRP yet, there was a delay but they should arrive to them tomorrow. So hopefully two or three weeks from now I’ll have the stage 3s. Brett is gonna give me an updated tune for them, and we’ll just run low boost for a while. I don’t want boost spiking so he needs to figure out a good boost curve, but I’d like a bit more up top. Truck made 41lb/min the other day on about 10 psi at redline, so very low boost numbers, I’d be happy with 14-15 psi and maybe 47-50 lb/min.

Got my stage 4 CRP Turbos in today! Spent the rest of the day working on the truck. I got the passenger side finished just have to get the driver side finished tomorrow morning. Everything be went great. 2022 3.5 is pretty easy to do the turbos on actually. I was expecting it to be harder than the 2.7 but it wasn’t.

Stock is on the right. Stage 4 on the left.

Look at that gorgeous 46/56mm compressor wheel. Can’t really see it in the photo but it has a CR stamp on the blade.

I am so jealous.......... and oh boy from the 2.7 to the 3.5 turbos, here we go!!!!!

Sort of a shame the have to get bolted on and hidden. Can't wait to see the results.
