Just creating a new thread to discuss my next build plans after my 2016 2.7 Ecoboost blew up for those who might see this thread for the first time.

Heres a picture of the truck. Just want to put it here so it’s visible on the cover of this thread

There it is without the bug deflector. I like it way better. However from other pics you can see the marks and scuffs in the paint it’s caused.
Also, the correct bumper end caps from Ford arrived today. Now to get them painted.

The Dad in me tells my kids that rock chips on the hood and windshield comes from following vehicles too closely, but since I'm not your Pop, I won't say anything. ;)

Haha, well I only have one small chip in the windshield and all chips on the hood are from before the big deflector was put on so I’m assuming the first owner?

Hi Matt
What kind of power are you putting out at the crank do you think just curious. I hope to haveine soon, thanks man
I am not sure but I am almost certain it’s over 450 at the wheels. I bet it’s around 600 crank.

When we visit we like the Hampton in Westgate. My older sister lived in Sun City but has moved back to WI. KM

I went with the clear bug deflector with the thought I was going to paint it from the back to match the truck. I never did - it mostly disappears. Glad I have it. There is a 4mm hold in it and a chip in the paint, I can only imagine how big the chip would have been (probably a dent) without it.

Due for an update I guess.

Jacob at SPD sent me this photo today, it’s the same setup I have except over the axle pipes instead of pre axle dumps, allowing one to hook up raptor/tremor etc tailpipes to it. I asked if I could call dibs on it and he hasn’t responded yet. I will have one nonetheless obviously

I sent the bumper end caps to ColorWerks up in Denver and they will paint them rapid red D4 for me. Will be about a 90% match, I’m good with that.

Alright, I need y’all’s expertise.

I think I’m going to order this and figure out how to make it work.
To be honest I want the valves to work. Could I get the controllers for the valves and wire them to a switch? Or does anyone know if the valves would be wide open when not controlled?

If I had to guess, Ford would have it fail to the quiet side. It uses a push button on the raptor steering wheel. The wheel will work, but you can't use the button cluster from a raptor. You'd need to figure out the voltage applied to the motors compared to how far they're open. You could probably do a straight 12v switch for open/close.

Thanks for the link. That setup flows a ton!! My friend Jake McCartney with the second fastest 3.5 in the world runs the dual exhaust, x pipe, trombone etc.

That's a LOT of exhaust stuff. I think I'll keep mine simple. Still interesting to see the lengths folks go for the sound they like. KM
