Are you getting the downpipes to go with?
Here’s the plan. I miss that equal length sound that my old truck had. I emailed Nathan at Fairway ford parts and asked him if that oem raptor Trombone was still backordered. He said lead time was 2 business days. So I ordered it. Once it comes I’ll measure between the two pipes and then I want to get a y pipe so I can go down to a single exhaust and use my current exhaust setup. CVF has promised me the first raptor downpipes off production line in a month or two.

Stage 5s are completed. Andrew will ship them tomorrow or Tuesday.

So here’s the idea on exhaust.
So CVF is gonna send me downpipes eventually, hopefully soon. They said I’d get the first set off production line. They’re gonna be raptor downpipes, so I’ll connect this trombone loop which I ordered and is shipping to my house currently, up to the CVF downpipes. I don’t want to spend another 1200$ on an exhaust that only gets me over the axle (SPD HX Muffler). I also don’t like the look of dual exhaust without the bumper cutouts. Definitely want to stay single, but how do I do single and also have the trombone sound? Well you may remember how my 2.7 sounded with a looped downpipe and a single exhaust. It was the sound I was going for. Basically if the trombone loop happens before the downpipe y’s together, no matter what the exhaust does after that, it will have the equal length signature sound. So my plan is to y down to my single Corsa exhaust after the trombone loop with something like pictured below.

Also I’m going to mess with the fake engine noise in Forscan today, I might even do a video on it if it works. @snakebitten gave me some awesome info on where to find it and the Forscan database spreadsheet someone kindly made.

The top most set of numbers, 727-01-01, if you look to the right you see four numbers, 0082. I changed the first number 0, at the left of those four numbers to a 1, which should enable the sound.

Once I changed it, it now says 1092 for those four numbers now

gonna go drive it and see if anything changed.

Oh heck, I thought you changed the sound with the foot pedal! KM

I just drove it. Didn’t really notice a difference, then again I have a loud exhaust. I think there is a little bit of a difference but not enough to warrant having it

If you actually can get it enabled on an XLT (I have some doubts), you will notice it big time with the windows up, stereo volume down, and from a dead stop you roll into aggressively.

At least you could in my 2018 KingRanch Ecoboost.

I don't notice it in my 2022 KingRanch Powerboost. I need to look and see if it's enabled. I know it doesn't sound anything like the 2018 did.

My 2018 Lariat fake engine noise rocks! I would never want to even try to turn it off. I would probably freak out at the regular truck noises if I did turn it off.

I turned mine off once, did not like the real noises I heard! Metallic and shrill.
Re-enabled, my lizard brain was content with V8 simulation again.

I'm with the Librarian above, I'm fine with the fake engine noise. Initially, I was determined to turn it off, but as I listened to the almost obnoxious noise from the nest of hornets, these little V6's produce, I decided this helped me overlook it. This, along with the Full Race exhaust system given to me by a friend (truly a great guy), I've learned to find the FENG perfectly acceptable.

don't do a 2->1 exhaust after the trombone loop. it will hurt power. try and keep the exhausts seperate. dumping straight at the ground in front of the axle is the easiest/fastest/cheapest/lightest weight way to do this
Why would it hurt power? The f150 uses a single 3” just fine.

Easy, fast, and simple are great for some applications, some uses. Others may want more control over the sound produced. I have used dumps and find them not to my acceptance and prefer directing all exhaust out away from the vehicle. KM

I don’t want to do a dump really because it will be muffler less haha. And, a dump underneath a vehicle usually makes it louder in the cab.
