Matt, I think I'm considering giving this a go at some point. The Valvetronic mufflers may be able to give the best of both worlds when desired..

Unfortunately the problem with these ecoboost Engines is you have to pick either 2/3 out of great low rumble, mid rpm pickup, and WOT.

My true duals, H pipe, and dual 6" Widowmakers sound great at low rpms, crap at mid rpms, and good gnarly at WOT. The turbo whistle is great that's why I want a straight though non-perforated muffler, Perforated mufflers take whistle away

Unfortunately I tried the 10" widowmakers and they improve the mid rpm sound but take away quite a bit of the low rpm grunt. Can't win with these engines.
Have you heard how good the newer raptors sound? That’s what my setup sounds like, just louder.

Here’s the current news

SPD is going to send me their over the axle HX Helmholtz version so I can use these bad boys that just came in today!

These Borla tailpipes fit the 17-20 raptor, 19-20 Limited and the 21-23 Tremor and BAP

Not knocking Matt's or anyone's choices but that is one heavy looking exhaust system to me. But as many here know I am more interested in simple and light weight adding performance. One thing that Matt is doing that interests me is the water/methanol injection. Been debating with myself, do it or just leave my truck be, still on the edge there. KM

It's going to add a few pounds, but it's going to look sweet. Nothing an extra pound of boost won't fix 😆

So the dual system is definitely lighter than an oem raptor dual system but yeah it probably adds a few pounds, it’s a lot of exhaust pipe. But… it’s so worth it for the sound. I wouldn’t even care if my truck was a little slower 0-60 because of it. The tailpipes in the picture are actually pretty light.

I'm really curious to see where you end up with your meth injection settings since I have been running the AEM setup. I need to verify this, but I believe that my charge air temps are below ambient on my data logs.

I should have explained. If you turn advance timing up which you can do, allowing you to make more hp on pump gas in my case (or whatever fuel you’re running) and then if something in your meth system fails, blown fuse, pump quits working, line gets clogged, you run out of methanol, then your engine is left with high timing and no cooling of the air so it can and probably would blow up!

No problem i get that , let me know when you run yours if its worth it without tuning , mix reviews on that

Matt, this may be more than you want to do/share but a scope of a piston top before and after, say 3k miles, would be an interesting comparison. KM

Might not make much more power on meth without tuning, but it should keep it more consistent. Cooler charge air throughout the rpm will keep it from pulling timing
I didn’t add it for power increase, just for knock protection and cleaning. Plus I like to tinker and it’s cool when my truck feels like a race car because I have to do lots of stuff on it.

I’d be down to do that actually. I haven’t started spraying yet. I honestly should change the plugs soon anyways.

Time to get the raptor upfitter switches 😆

The second half of this article, Consider Water-Methanol Injection talks about valve cleaning. KM
