It's easy to see if your truck is equipped with the active air dam. There's a rather hefty actuator on each end, as well as a multilayer dam itself.

Wish I'd known about that when I had my rental. According to the brochure, it was standard on '23 models.

 

Just to be clear - these Active Air Dams are on 2021+ models, right?

Yep, that's the active air dam. Lowers over 40mph

 

It's 6 screws to remove the air dam if you ever need to. Really simple. You can remove the motors and just leave them unplugged and it'll leave a soft code, but won't set a cel. There's a way to turn the soft code off in FORScan.

 

Sweet. I’ll probably leave it. I don’t have a need to take it off right now.

 

I’ve been running e20 and OAR is at -0.96
I’ve noticed this truck really has quite a bit of part throttle timing in it. I watched my Livewire read some data and it was what I thought, 15-17 degrees of advanced timing during part throttle. Pretty interesting

 

What were you getting with the 2.7?
Just dialed up a long highway cruise graph of spark and throttle position. Most is 15-20 degrees and over. KM

 

Part throttle with all my mods and tune I was seeing 18-22 degrees. WOT was 14.5 degrees of timing advance

Do the 2022 3.5s have cam phaser problems?

I'm not on any social media sites.

So far phaser talk has been almost dead silent. Which is pretty good since it's now the 4th year for this generation of 3.5 Ecoboost.

In fact, the motor itself has been pretty problem free.

Electronics, IWE, and 10r80 get most of the problem reports

Well,,,,,,, and I would be lying if I haven't been searching the internet for a smokin deal, at least on add to get me excited...... you never know what the next moth or two brings my friend!

 

I have been all over the place trying to decide what to do for exhaust. I want a tad louder but kinda like the quietness of stealth. I went ahead and ordered a FactionFab resonator delete pipe for the 21+ 3.5 Ecoboost.

Also, CVF inlet tubes are in the future once they finish developing them which is very soon Jason tells me.

Got a tune coming soon from @Boostking and then I think this build as far as performance will be dialed in for a long while.

 

I really like my resonator delete. For about $80 at the time. It has some growl but isn't annoying cruising on the highway.

 

Oh yeah and my front windows get tinted today!

 

I wish! All front window tint is illegal here!

Well guys, did a dragy baseline run on the 2022 3.5 today and wow she is quick. I did not expect it to be that fast

launched in 4x4 in normal mode at 2300rpm on a flat road

 

Way to go. Fun isn’t it. You’re 4x4 did a little better than the last time I ran my 2wd. I need to charge the Dragy and and unleash it it’s been a long time. My tires were getting a little thin in the tread and get them rotated every 5k. lol Not looking forward to the day telling my wife that I have to replace them. There 20” 50’s.

 

What's your payload and your gvwr? Just trying to get a rough idea what your truck weighs.

 

 

Based on my payload ability, which is 1730lbs, the truck weighs somewhere around 5300 lbs or so.

 

Same gvwr and 1768 of payload here. Should give me a pretty decent guess of what mine will run. Thanks!

 

Hey guys, sounds like I’m gonna take the white truck home this weekend. She got broken into tonight and someone stole my sawzall and battery out of it. I was in my apartment. They did it in broad daylight.
anyway, the door won’t lock now as they jacked up the handle and lock.
do you guys know if I put it on a car dolly, do I need to disconnect the driveshaft, or can I let the rear tires roll on the ground?
Heres what they did to the white truck. Did the same to my moms truck a month or so ago.

 

You will burn up the trans towing it with the front end on the dolly and rear end on the ground. Either take the driveshaft off and tow it the same way or push the truck on backwards and tie the steering wheel straight with the seat belt and tow it backwards.

 

I’ll just pop the driveshaft off it’s super easy to remove.
