Just creating a new thread to discuss my next build plans after my 2016 2.7 Ecoboost blew up for those who might see this thread for the first time.

Heres a picture of the truck. Just want to put it here so it’s visible on the cover of this thread

My 2018 Owner's Manual has this information on towing the truck (attached)

That's garbage, sorry to hear it man! It's not like its some bad part of town, people are just so indifferent to their fellow human. Not sure on the towing, but removing driveshaft sounds like a good plan.

Got a super cool deal going with Boosted Performance. They are giving me a free intercooler and intake they made for the 15-20 2.7 and 3.5 Ecoboost. I’ll test it on either my mom’s truck or the 2.7 once it’s back up and running. Probably put it on my mom’s truck though.

Make sure you turn off automatic updates when you get your tune installed. Don't want a PCM update to wipe it. Unless @Boostking needs that to get the new strategy.
You can still install updates, it'll just ask you for permission before it does.

I've been tuned for well over a year and had many automatic updates. They have not changed the PCM strategy or impacted the tuning in any way. I know they CAN, however I think its very rare that they update the PCM via their "cloud". I think the risk of an issue during that type of process which could render the vehicle inoperable makes it pretty rare.

I have yet to see anyone have a tune issue after an automatic update. We shall see.

If for some reason it does happen, it may day a little for SCT to add it back into the software, but after that I will just update the tunes. No worries.

I did a ton of stuff on my white truck tonight. Took all the electrical connections off. Took the starter and alternator off. Got all the bolts out of the trans/motor connection too.

Do you guys know if I can switch the truck into neutral from under the truck? The battery is dead and if I power it up again, I might blow some stuff up cuz all the electrical stuff is disconnected. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know about that? Is it possible to switch the truck to neutral? The battery is dead and the truck is locked in park, can’t move the shifter. Can I click it in neutral from the transmission?

Well guys, I figured I’d just put this here instead of my other truck thread. Started the morning off by removing some more things off the 2.7 motor in the white truck.

Then, me and a friend pulled the blown motor out, and prepped the new motor and dropped the new motor in. It was a crazy process but we are struggling to get the spinning trans plate bolts (there’s four of them) to line up with the flywheel properly. I guess we just have to giggle the motor and trans around more. I’ve got one of them line up and through properly, but the others are not. Yet. They’re close, like 1/8 of an inch away.

I’ve never worked so hard on a truck project in my life. I started at 8 am and quit at 10:30pm.

Spoilers: The white truck ran for about 10 minutes today! It was idling rough, then seemed to smooth out. It threw about 20 codes. The battery was completely dead and we got it to start with a jump box. But I couldn’t start it again with a jump from my red truck so I think maybe the battery is done. I’m not sure though.
Another thing is the coolant was showing high temp and the fan was running constantly. If I tried to bring rpm’s up, the truck started to shake a little and sound kinda odd. Anyone have any thoughts?

Read this again. Truck was in overheat protection. Running on 3 cylinders I think.

Stock tune in it? I'd definitely get a good battery in it. These things can get all sorts of angry with a bad one. What were the codes? Coolant immediately at high temp, or did it quickly get there? (Sensor not plugged in/busted, or air pocket)

Stock tune. I returned it to stock before I got rid of the device that I had for it.
The battery is good just needs charged. It’s at the auto parts store charging. The codes were so many, over 20 of them. I didn’t read them all. It was immediately high coolant temp. Fan turned on within seconds of starting the truck.

Unless…
Vehicle is out of Freon in the AC system
It’s a scorching hot day so you lower the windows.
Nothing but hot air blowing is so you drive faster to flow more air.
Scorching air and the wind noise drive you bonkers so you drive faster.
Driving faster you don’t pay attention to being on boost all the time.
Being on boost could raise the engine temperature.
Maybe.
:ROFLMAO:

Cooling system bled up?
I would check codes sounds like it might have got hot…
