Hey everyone, I've been lurking here for awhile but finally registered to get some advice. What is the max size tire that can fit without rubbing on a 2013 4x4 with a 2 inch motofab level and stock 18 inch wheels? I've been looking at 285/65/18 but I think I can get more rubber in there. Thanks in advance.

I'm on 20s as well but I did 33x12.50r20 on a 2.5 inch level and had rubbing on the one side. Had to do some trimming. So I wouldn't try bigger than that.

OP, heres one of my older trucks that I only had for 4-5 months. It was a 2013 FX4 that I put 295/70/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on and all I added was the auto spring 1.5" front level. I had no problem clearing 295/70/18s and they did not rub. I know ever truck sits a little different, but you should be good to go without a problem. Here is a couple quick pictures I had of it. Personally I would not have done it any different in tire size. I think it made the truck look aggressive and sit perfect. I did remember there was a slight power drop though after adding them and I know fuel economy took a hit. I had 3.73 gears in that also. But in my opinion, the look out weighed those cons! Hope this helps.

Heres another one I found quick with a load in the bed and also the only close up one I have of the tire in the front wheel well.

Your truck looks good! So are those the stock 18X7.5 rims? If so a 295/70/18 fit just fine? I was thinking of getting the same size tires but I was going to get a new 18X9 wheels. My stock is 285/75/18 on a 18X7.5 rims.

Tire size alone won't answer your rubbing question. If you go with aftermarket wheels the off set matters much more than the tire size.
For example a 295/60-20 (about 34" vs 32"stock) will not rub on a ET +12 wheel on a leveled truck. The same tire will rub on a ET -12 wheel because you move the wheel out by about an inch and therefor having a larger steering circle since your pivot point is now an inch further out.
To make a ET -12 wheel work you'll need a minimum 4" lift to have enough clearance. Especially on the 2015+ models. they have a crashbar in the wheel housing.

With stock wheels you "should" be fine all the way up to 285/75; 295/60; 305/50. i wouldn't go larger than 34" total diameter...

Thanks! Its actually my old truck. But yes, the 295/70/18 fit with zero rubbing and a 1.5" Autospring lift. However, if you go with an aftermarket rim, you could run into issues depending on the offset. But on the stock wheels you can run that setup without any issues at all.

I completely agree with your rim offset comment, however I disagree with your tire size comment. You can easily run the 295/70/18 (34.25x11.61) with a 2 inch left on the stock rim without any issues. And I only had a 1.5" lift. If I would have had a 2 or a 2.5 I could have squeezed in 35s as I still had some room to spare. Depending on how wide of a tire, I may have rubbed on full lock with a 35, but it definitely could have been done.

you are right, I was thinking 20" stock wheels... so I should have been more specific... 285/75-20; 295/60-20; 305/55-20... you can add 10 on the ratio if you have 18" wheels

This is an excellent post. Thank you for taking the time.
I have 18” stock rims and the tire shops are not reccomending anything as big as a 305 on the rims. I think I have 275/65-18 stock and they recommended up to a 285/75-18. Please forgive me if I botched those numbers.
But my question is, does a 20" wheel allow for a wider tire? Would the tire shops support a 305 as a choice for 20"?

Depends on the width of the rim. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the stock 18" wheels are 18x6 or 18x7. That factor will limit your tire width. Most 20" come in 20x9 & 20x10 (there are obviously exceptions). With a wider wheel you can run a wider tire... Extreme example, try to fit a 305 tire on a bicycle wheel. With a 9" wide wheel you can go as high as 325 (I think, but the tire guys will know). If you put a 305 on a 7" wide wheel you'll have a lot of sidewall coming over the rim. Your tires will look like a really fat woman with spandex that are 3 sizes to small... Straight up muffin top :p
Hell, in my ricer days we put 175/45 on 17x8.5... but you had to use a lot of persuasion to make it work... pure alcohol and a lighter to get the tire set. So anything is possible if you are brave nuff (or stupid nuff, depends how far you push it)

Actually, come to think of it... what look are you going for?
1) the baja look. smaller rim, big tire? Think SVT Raptor look
2) the balanced look, wheel and tire in proportion to each other? What most of us do. A 20x9 (or10) with 295/60-20 -- 305/55-20
3) the sporty look, big wheel, low profile tire? 22" or 24" or even 26 wheel with a 305/35ish kinda tire.

I favor the second...

The Pic is nice.
However Yes you have nailed it. I like the raptor. I like Baja. #1
Stock rim is 18x 7.5 .

There is the answer. A stock 20 is wider. Thanks

295/65/18 on 18x9 +20 with Bilsteins at 1.5" = close, but no rubbing and no trimming. Hasn't rubbed in 40K at any angle or any flex. 295/70/18 on this same setup would be questionable, at least without minor trimming. I too have seen 295/70/18 on stock 18x7.5 +44 and 1.5" lift with no rubbing and no trimming.

I know someone running 305/65/18 on stock set up

Also in the market for 18 tires on stock rims and I came up with this

33 tall 11.5 wide close to 295/65/18
34 tall 11.5 wide close to 295/70/18
34 tall 11.0 wide close to 305/65/18

I think I'm going to try the 305/65/18 sense I'm on 5100 raised up to the top notch or if I can find some 34x11.5 I'll try them instead

So this seams to be an appropriate place to post this question. Got a leveling kit on a month or so ago. My stock tires are shot. Need to buy some new ones in the next 2 weeks. 2013 Screw 4X4. So my question. I have factory 18 inch rims. The sizes that I am looking at are 285 75, 275 75, 285 70 and 275 70. What I really want is 285 75. I just really don't want to buy them and be stuck with a tire that rubs. So will all the above tire sizes for sure fit? Especially 285 75? Thanks! Always appreciate your guys input! Would like some duratracs
