I guess I still don't see how this is the "Ultimate" upgrade. If I could get one part to stop the overheating when towing, THAT would be the ultimate upgrade to me!

 

Yeah Mr. Makuloco sure seemed pretty excited about it. He seems to think it will help prevent a myriad of ills on aging gen 1 engines.

 

Ehhhh I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Tho it may be a nice upgrade - it won’t fix everything. Most of the products FTM showcases are payed promotions.

Oil pumps don’t seem like an issue at all on Gen1 motors. Even high mileage.

 

I replaced my sludgey OEM with one of these HV units. Not expecting much if any gain, but figured why not. It was literally a few dollars more than an OEM pump with allegedly better pressure.

We shall see.

 

Good question...or in my case, actually getting oil where it needs to go considering the way the motor looked when I removed the pan and front cover.

Plus, I remote located the filter, using a larger filter and a massive 30 row cooler...who knows, maybe it will help push oil through all that.

 

My current Gen 1 is at 182,210~ miles on the original factory sealed block. I’m most certainly just going to toss in the same Motorcraft pump if it ever went out.

 

Yes but it’s also probably a LOT cleaner than mine was because you likely took care of it, unlike the previous owner of mine! [emoji23][emoji23]
