The good thing about my truck is that I don’t have to fight to do the install, since we took off the struts and all the stock suspension, and braking system I can take off the turbos and manifold as a unit if I tried.. it looks like we might be able to do in a few hrs..although I’m going to be safe, and piece by piece just to make sure we don’t miss anything, im going to have to have my brother help, as doing it from my wheelchair will probably just stink..
anyway live close to Byran /college station? about 1 hr from Houston..anyone interested in helping, . ? I’d be more that happy to lend my garage if ya need to work on your truck, as I’ve got 5k sqf ,plenty of room..
at some point I’m going to install a lift , so you could have access to it..figured it didn’t hurt to ask, I’ve also got Gearhead tuners right down the road from my ranch which would mean being able to do the install and then jump right on their dyno with a appointment etc…
I think I’ve still got some stock parts left from my truck too, if ya needed or wanted them..

Why wait, it might run better with less miles plus, if it blows now you can always warranty out it if it’s a extended warranty, and lot of local shops, don’t care if you boosted it to death, I never gave any of my customers a hard time, ( infact we used to have many who came in and asked us to replace XXXXX AND YZ, we knew it was simply cause they We’re trying to prevent failures out of their own pockets later, plus since we didn’t diagnosed the failures it’s not on us..) unless it effectively hurt another good customer , like a local used car dealer who sent 3-4 auction cars a week to us,and one day a customer of his tried to nail him for a free engine , by idling across the street , then holding it wide open in park until it blew..since the cost would of come right out of the dealers pocket I wasn’t going to let him get screwed..
cool thing was I got a great truck out of the deal, the buyer left it at our shop, the dealer offered him a buy out, after I explained if he was driving on the freeway as he claimed a baseball size hole in the oil pan would of sent oil as far down as the rear diff, and even the rear bumper, yet the trans was completely dry, and you could see how the oil ran down and not backwards…
so i offered him 1200 bucks ,I rebuilt the whole truck, drove it for 6 yrs,and gave it to my son when he turned 16…loved that truck..

Ok why did you go with those turbos instead of CR’s stage 4 or stage 5 turbos ?
Not sure if you’ve mention it or not, but are those stage 2 available,? As gearhead down here said they were waiting for them to be realeased, ?

I think you’re asking me. I currently have the only set. Testing needs to be done and IMO, Full Race will need to come up with a good solution in kit form. Most folks won’t have Gen2 turbos on a Gen1 before buying these.

Stage 2’s have been available for Gen2’s have been available for a couple years.

Dang so I could be waiting forever lol and a night then ? Or at least 6 months as they are always pretty slow at getting new kits out the door, ??
so really what in your opinion does it need as far as a kit, ?? Isnt it more or less just setting up the waste gates ,as the install kit is there as far as I could tell ? Ie gaskets nuts studs, hoses etc all seem to be in their kit already ? Unless I’m missing something

How much is the power difference between running the CRP turbos stage 4 and stage 5 f, and the Garrett turbos ,then the stage 2 Garretts ..is there any know failures with the CRP stage 4 or 5 units, ? I’m not wanting to build the system multiple times in the name of testing unless fullrace is giving discounts to get the unit’s out there in the name of testing to help them get some feed back and data..that I’d be willing to do, as I’ve got one of the main ecoboost tuners just down the road, since I don’t have a built motor does it really matter since I may not be able to take advantage of the increase , or is this really more about long term reliability being Garrett stage two is a factory buikt turbo unlike the CRP turbos, ??..

The Garret solution is the most reliable.

With a proper tune and built motor, you can easily tap into some insane power that is also daily driver friendly.

One thing that made my EFR 62/58s not so great was how high the RPM’s needed to be to get into boost. It’s better spinning smaller turbos faster than the opposite. It’s how these trucks were designed to begin with

As mentioned in the other thread, I would say in your case to get the stage 1 garrets and do some work on the fuel system side to run Ethanol.

Yeah that I can agree with ,plus the weight would be a factor with the lack of low end torque kicking a lot later it would seem.

I haven't seen any recently, so you may have to poke around YouTube. Last one from memory was 504whp on e30
Well that might be what 46-475 on 93 then, ??
