Also, as to pro's/con's of E50/E85, the biggest universal cons are simply availability and that MPG will drop since you need to burn 20%-30% more E85 to match the energy content of pump gas e10.
Con's specific to the EcoBoost are that I don't think you can run more than e30 without a tune, and I am not sure you can go all the way to e85 without replacing fuel injectors and pumps even with a tune.
Pro's specific to the EcoBoost is that even in stock form it likes ~e20 mixes, as it is factory calibrated to take advantage of higher octanes. Higher concentrations of ethanol are a hack for achieving higher octane, but at the cost of mpg. Such performance improvements are compounded with a quality tune, particularly one designed for a specified ethanol blend.
But again, worries about ethanol would come after the easy win of a tune + intercooler. I'd say try that first and see if that doesn't cover most of it, to paraphrase Bill Murray.
