I have a 2018 F-150 2wd with 2.7l ecoboost, after I installed new brakes and one caliper(passenger rear)
I drove it and everything seemed fine, I got in it one morning it started drove fine I went in the store and came back out to find it not shift into gear and Park Brake function limited message on dash does anybody have any idea what could be going on?

Two questions right off the bat....
1. Do you have electric park brake?
2.If so did you put it in service mode when you did the brakes?

Yes it has electric park brake and yes I put it in maintenance mode before doing them

As of the moment no but I was looking at maybe getting a v linker and use forscan to see what was going on but at the moment can’t read codes the only thing I have is a obd2 scanner

Yes I replaced the rear passenger caliper and when I had got in it at the store to get it home I had to take the column apart and pull the safety switch out for shifter to get it home and if I put it in and out of maintenance mode it makes the air gap for brake on both side of I use emergency brake everything seems to work fine it’s just now the message on dash and not letting me shift into gear

Is it possible for the brake to have air in them even though I bled them after caliper install and that causing that issue

I would also pull that 1 wheel off and visually look over that caliper and wireing.

Yes I have both back wheels off now I looked at the wiring and the hoses making sure nothing was broken everything looks good

You don't have an auxiliary braking system on this truck right? In other words... you don't tow it behind a motorhome that controls an auxiliary braking system.
You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and jumpering the cables together in order to reset everything. I would want to try and pull codes before getting to that point though. You are going to need a code reader or someone that can pull codes to see what it says.
Wish I could be more help. Hopefully others here with more knowledge will chime in.

We’ve had, recently, guys install the pads not realizing they were labeled LH inner, RH inner. I think that was fronts, but wouldn’t hurt to check these aren’t designated inner or outer and in the wrong location.

Okay I will check would it be on the outside of the pad

Yes. On the metal backing.

Okay so I took them off and as far as I can tell the rear pads are the same with no marking left or right

It's a button on the dash. PB function is engaged with an electric motor at each rear caliper.

And so when you put it in maintenance mode all it does is create a air gap between the caliper and rotors so you can pull the caliper off

Have you check all of the associated fuses? Maybe you popped a fuse somehow?

Just the abs fuse or is there another I should check?

It was number 14 fuse passenger compartment blown I swapped it with spare #6 fuse

So that was the issue? A blown fuse? Nice fix!

Yes that was the problem I don’t know how it blew maybe when I was unhooking the electric brake from caliper or something
