Can anyone explain how to add picture to profile avatar

yea but you gotta play around with it some and get it sized right before it will load !

get the pic ready you want for avatar by sizing it to 100x100 pixels or 58kb
then save a copy right on your desktop or another easy to find place

goto settings tab on top right
then click your edit avatar link in the menu and it will let you load it up from your computer

the key is have it the right size before you start
