You guys are awesome, thanks for all the support I did end up figuring it out and a couple people mentioned it. It was the crankshaft position sensor. It goes in that hole on the driver side of the engine into the bell housing. I had to take that rubber cover off and feed it back down there and somehow I got it plugged back in.

At least I'm pretty sure it's in lol cant see it but it snapped like it locked into place and wouldn't pull out.

I've got a few more things to tidy up on it before I turn the key but we figure it out. Thanks again!

For sure. I do think 5th gear is going out on my trans but I guess that will be a project when it finally goes lol. It's been like this for a while. When I hit fifth it's almost like a rubbing feeling. Hard to explain but something is going on there.

Maybe it's the nature of the beast? I'm a very conservative driver so when it switches to 5th I'm usually at a very low rpm.

Trans been serviced lately. I find Ford trans tend to work a lot more optimal if they have newer fluid.
