Don't even bother. I tried the mirror tap and it was a joke. Run a wire down to the passenger side fuse box and use a fuse tap.

 

Which fuse did you tap into?

I installed the my mirror tap myself and couldn't be happier...just wish I could remember how I did it lol. You will need a multi-meter, know that for sure. I wouldn't think the wiring would be much different than in my 2013.

Actually it is much more of a difference. What model (version) f150? I have the limited and the wiring does not run directly into the mirror. The limited edition of the f150 has multiple wires and a 17pin connector to run the roof, lights, rain sensor, lamps for map and some other wires. On my 2014 it was 4 or 5 wires directly into the back of rearview mirror. I am going to wire it in like 2Canches said posted . Easy enough just hate to waste the stealth wire. Thanks for your input

 

Sorry Man, I have not done it on this truck. If don't think the layout is the same as the 11-14 year so I would be misleading you. One of the other folks might be able to help you out.

Anyone know how to remove that trim piece in the video? Running the wire under that makes for a much cleaner install.

thanks much, I had run my phone line up around the windshield, down the A-pillar over to the cigarette power. Sure will be nice to change that out.
