2013 screw 3.5 EB XLT (3.31 I think)
This past weekend I was towing my travel trailer (25ft wildwood)home from the desert using the 87 tow tune from Unleashed. The uphill grade was roughly 6-8% and about 1/3-1/2 way up the grade I got a “reduced engine power to prevent overheating” message. engine/oil temp was normal (under half way on the gauge) and trans temp was around 205.
My trailer is around 6500# loaded and truck with 2 adults and my three kids in the back. Curious if this is common with this model truck or is there something in the programmer that can be checked. I am new to the tune/datalog side of things so I am unsure where to turn. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Side note this was the first time towing for longer than an hour as most of our camping trips have been within 30-45 miles away with little to no grades locally.
I tried searching the forums but couldn’t find anything close or what I was looking for.
Thanks,
Mike
