The F150 sports two front air dams or deflectors. The first one you see from the front of the truck is mounted to the bumper, the second sets a little further back and sets much lower to the ground reducing ground clearance to around 6".

Has anyone removed the lowest air deflector/dam on a permanent basis and if so have you noticed any difference over time.

The first air dam attached to the bumper does sit lower than the inter cooler thus deflecting any road debris away from the cooler.

I have a 2013 Fx4 and removed it to put Ranch Hand on. Haven't noticed anything different yet.
