Service Engine Soon Warning

I mentioned it here but I recently had my wife's sorento in the dealer with a rod knock. They fixed it under warranty but they proved why I don't trust ANYONE to put in the effort to do a good job.
When I went to pick it up the very first thing I did was pop the hood and take a look around. I wanted to see if harnesses were routed properly and if clips and stuff were broken in the process.
The very 1st thing I see is the piping from the turbo to the engine is completely disconnected. I asked the service writer if they test drove the car after it was install and I was assured it was. I then asked if he noticed the check engine light and the fact that it drove like crud because there was no boost. Deer in the headlight look.
They fixed the pipe and test drove it again. They told me it was all good to go. My wife drove it home and told me the steering wheel is crooked. Turns out they dropped the front subframe to remove the engine. When they stabbed the steering column they were off a spline.
So 2 test drives and they didn't notice it.
I just can't bring myself to trust mechanics.
