On a closed track with professional drivers in Mexico, I had a Tundra TRD 5.7 keep staring me down until he pulled up next to me. 0-70 I had 2 car lengths and let completely off as he continued to floor it until he passed me. At 2 car lengths is was a stalemate... He wasn't catching me and I wasn't going to lose him anymore.

A 02 v6 stick maxima tried to race me. Pulled him 70-115 by 3 truck lengths. Closed course. Police escort.

I've raced a few ram's on the street, and I even went three wide with a ram and a 392 challenger. My buddy swears he'll start beating me once he gets a high stall converter.

All of this was on a closed street with adult (police) supervision.. wink wink...

A few years ago, a guy pulled up to me and challenged me to a Street Race, revving his engine. I owned a modified Trans-Am at that time.

I had a Radar Detector and I was picking up a signal. So I decided to ignore the guy. The guy tore off in a blazing glory with the "thrill of victory" on his face, while I just putted away.

Sure enough, a block down the road, a policeman jumped out and pulled him over. When I drove by, he just stared at me with the "agony of defeat" on his face. I guess the LEOs were the winners in that race.

PS: I didn't encourage him either. He did a good enough job on his own.

I'm not going to lie I encourage every time I get the chance. ... I love getting them on the interstate the ones that get up in your bumper and flash their lights (mind you I already am +10-15) so I'll match the car in the slow Lane and won't pull over until my radar goes off. .. that's a true win there. ... yes that's an a°°hole thing to do but what can I say I'm already paying cars no need to do 100

I could never be a cop... I'd be racing kids in the patrol car.

If they lose = ticket
Win = free pass

There'd be something special under the hood though.

I don't know what the penalty is for "street racing" where you guys are, but where I live it's very severe. Anything more than 40 km/h (25mph) over the posted speed limit can be deemed "street racing". A driver faces pretty much the same penalties as "drunk driving". Your vehicle can be impounded (and you pay the storage cost), automatic loss of driving licence and in severe situations, your vehicle can be seized and sold. And if there is an accident and anyone is killed (even if it was the other driver), it can be manslaughter.

The last thing I want, is to end up in jail all because some idiot lost control and killed some innocent person at the side of the road.

I would rather go to the track and REALLY see what my vehicle can do (and how good of a driver the other guy really is). And if something happens, there is an ambulance.

PS: I admit that in my older age I normally drive the speed limit (maybe an extra 5-10 mph depending on the road conditions and volume). The only time I really "boot it" on the roads, is to pass someone - and that is really why I bought the Ecoboost.

I live in a mountainous area where many of the roads are two lanes. I don't know why, but it seems many people will drive aggrevatingly slower than the posted speed UNTIL they come up to a passing lane, and then boot it to 10 mph over ... so now you have to speed faster to pass them ... and risk the ticket. With the Ecoboost, I love having the power to pass those idiots before I come to the passing lane (and have to drive too fast to pass them).

PPS: And if that jerk tries to re-pass me when we hit the passing lane, I make him drive faster (so he can risk the ticket).
