Couple of max tow, 20” wheeled, super crew long beds I have seen have hitches rated like the 2017 with 1220 lb tongue and 12200 lb trailer weight. Still haven’t heard of or seen one rated for 13200.

Towing guide says 13,200 only available on a 2018 F-150 XL SuperCrew®,6.5' box, 3.5L EcoBoost engine, 4x2 andMax Trailer Tow Package. Decent work truck but bet not too many built to that spec.

Max payload of 3270 is on a 2018 F-150 XL RegularCab, 8' box, 5.0L engine, 4x2, Heavy-DutyPayload Package and 18" heavy-dutywheels. Also rare.

My truck is a 2018 F-150 Lariat SCREW, 6.5' box, 3.5L EcoBoost engine, 4x4, Heavy-DutyPayload Package and 18" heavy-dutywheels. Payload is 2406 and tow capacity should be 11,500 according to the guide. GCVWR is 17,100 lbs. I ordered this one specifically for towing my toy hauler. Very rare to find a HDPP truck in inventory anywhere. Almost all are special orders.

I think you are right. I think it was the trim of the trucks I had seen. You need at least 1700 lb payload to tow a 13200 lb trailer according to sae j2807 and the two trucks I had looked at we're a Lariat and King ranch which def did not have 1700 lbs.

• 3.55 Electronic-locking rear-axle
• 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness
• 36 Gallon fuel tank
• Auxiliary transmission oil cooler
• Engine oil cooler
• Class IV trailer hitch receiver
• Pro Trailer Backup Assist with Tailgate LED
• Smart Trailer Tow Connector (standard on LARIAT and higher)
• Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
• Upgraded front stabilizer bar
• Upgraded rear bumper

Requires 3.5L EcoBoost[emoji768] engine.*
Does not include Trailer Tow Mirrors. Trailer Tow Mirrors are a standalone option and must be ordered separately.
Max GCWR/Max Tow achieved on SuperCrew[emoji768] when equipped with 20-inch Wheels. This configuration will also come equipped with max springs, steering gear, and upgraded stabilizer bar.

The engine oil cooler MIGHT be an added component. I haven't personally verified it.
But the "auxiliary transmission cooler" is included with every 10-speed transmission regardless of truck configuration. And it is not the front mounted air cooled version.
(we have a thread here that fully investigated and clarified the confusing documentation from Ford)

Note: The 3.5 NA engine still has the potential of having the old-school traditional air-cooled auxiliary transmission cooler mounted in front of the radiator.

I think it's possible to meticulously hand pick and order a truck that rubs shoulders with a Platinum and break the 1500lb payload barrier.
But it wouldn't be a legitimate Platinum and it still wouldn't get to 2000. That'd be a POPULAR build!

Heck, you can't even build an XLT Crew Cab Max Payload without DROPPING the 302A package. Heartbreaking if you just wanted heated seats in your payload-truck.

I won't complain too much though. I think Ford is far more build friendly across the F150 trims\drive trains. Far more.

You can get a 500A Lariat hd payload with leather and heated seats, but that's it.
I don't NEED a lot of payload. My concern is 850 lbs on the tongue, and my wife and I at 450-500 combined, we may not have capacity for 2 more adults and bikes. I suspect that we'll be fine on the few occassions we'll take others.

But that puts you at 1300-1350. And are you including the weight of the wdh in that? Cell phones, chargers, whatever crap you put in your console? You are gonna be very close I think without any other cargo.

Y'all got me thinking. I have a 2018 Supercab 4x2, max tow package and the 6-1/2 bed with 20 inch wheels. I looked over the chart and I figured my tow capacity was 12,100. But nowhere did it mention 20 inch wheels. Does that increase my tow capacity?? Heck I didn't even see 20's as an option on the Ford website.

Hi everyone !

I'm new to the forum. I just placed a special order three weeks ago and I'm super excited to get my truck. I have a build date of Aug 27

I'm currently driving a 14 GMC Sierra, Z71, standard bed, heavy tow with 5.3...Its served me well

I swung in the ford dealer on a whim and drive a 3.5 Eco / 10 speed and had to have one !

The 13,200 rating is for the 4x2 13,000 is for the 4x4

I just ordered the following truck:

Lariat, Loaded out, Double Moonroof, Super Crew ,4x4 FX4 ,3.5 10 speed-3:55 , Max Tow and 20" PVD wheels.

This will yield the following numbers CGWR 18,400 Towing 13,000 , GVWR 7050 and Payload of 2030

Sorry, but that wont happen. I looked at several lariats and king ranches and all had 12xxx lb rated hitches even with max tow and 20" wheels. You wont have 2000 lbs of payload either, more like 1500-1600 lbs with all the options on that truck. 2030 lbs would have been if you bought a no option XL.

Not trying to be a dick, just trying to make you aware that the numbers in the brochures dont automatically apply to every F150 produced. They all have the same GVWR and GCWR, so the more options you throw at the truck the less the payload and towing capacities become.

According to the information on the Ford Conventional Towing Chart, in order to tow up to 13,200* lbs. you must have a 2018 3.5L Ecoboost, 3.55:1 gear ratio, 156.8" W.B. and it must be a SuperCrew 4X2 truck.

* Requires Max. Trailer Tow Package.

It also needs 20" wheels. If you read the max-tow description in the build and price it has some caveats for maximum towing.

Now under another brocure I see where the tarings are based upon a "base model 150XL"

I retract my sneaky comment... This makes sense now

Thank you for the clarification everyone

If you want Crew Cab, and Max Tow, just order Max Payload. The "Max Payload" feature immediately configures the truck for max whatever, for the cab you choose.

Note though, you lose all choices for wheels and tires. It comes with the 18's pictured. Period.

The HD Payload trucks actually have a lower tow rating because of the 18's, which makes 0 sense to me. The suspension is stiffer, the frame rails are thicker, the axle is beefier and its got LT tires, why wouldnt it tow as much.

So accordings to fords chart the GVWR will be 7050 on my truck with a maximum payload of 2030 #.

I can across this Google Document for 2016 weights, subtracted all the options out from the 2030 number and arrived at 1601 # which is where "Mass-Hole" estimated

Anyone know where I can find the weights for 2018 models?

Hi Guys,

Here it is !

They Payload came in at 1497# which is a little disappointing. My hitch is rated at 13,200 with a WDH.

Aside from the payload this 3.5 Ecoboost is a animal and I'm loving it.

Interesting. My truck is identical to yours from a chassis perspective, but it's a 502A Special Edition, and it shows 1619. I don't have the rattle-roof, but I do have adaptive cruise, inflatable rear belts, and the Tech package.

Either that rattle-roof is damn heavy, or something else is different.
