Stupid deer...

Once a guy in a Neon wanted to race me (I had a Mazda 3 at the time). I ignored him and watched him take off in a blaze of glory.

About two hundred feet, a big elk jumped out of a ditch and totaled the guy's Neon. The elk flew over the guy's roof, landed on all fours but broke all of his legs to the knees. The animal tried, but could not run away on it's knees. I stayed as a witness (didn't mention his fast take-off), when a Conservation Officer (Animal Control) came up and had to shoot it.

Animal collisions never end nice ...

Glad your damage was fairly minor (compared to some I have seen).

Years ago one of my Canadian Buick brothers posted pictures of a terrible collision he had with a Moose. He was on his way back home from a Buick event and he was driving the car rather than trailering it. The car was totaled completely. The Moose tore up the front end, tore the roof off, crapped in the back seat on his way to wrecking the rear of the car. It WAS a very nice car too, a Limited. Those creatures ya'll have wondering into the streets up there are scary. I'm watching the road banks like a hawk when I travel through areas that a known to have deer.
About 10 years ago, I had an unplanned drag race with a moose. I was on a seldom used secondary road, and this moose came out of the bush, and decided to race my car. I just wanted to get a way from the stupid creature but didn't want to startle it ... so I just kept slowly accelerating ... but the moose just chased me like one of those dogs that use to chase me on when I had a motorcycle.

Around 35 mph, the moose slipped, lost his footing and almost fell into my car - and tumbled on the ground. It shook itself after it got back up, and then went into the bush. I guess he realized he lost.

Yes, you MUST replace the CAC. Preferrably with a Wagner. Talk to the shop you plan to get it done, get them to install the Wagner instead of the stock unit ... and pay the difference. Probably not that much. A new Wagner is about $950. Talk to Stage3, MAK, or Ecoboost Parts. They are all good to deal with.

Then you will have one of the cheapest "upgraded CACs".

Yeah I was thinking a full race or the Wagner. I like how the full race moves it up. Haven't done enough research into the Wagner but it looks like it mounts in the same position? It is like 200 dollars cheaper though.
That is why I have a "lower grille insert". Protects my CAC from various road debris and obstacles like: rocks, branches, cars with trailer hitches when backing up, deer antlers, screaming pedestrians, etc
