I have a 2019 f150 302a sport with sync 3.
It's been on 3.3 since feburary.
I'm connected to my home wifi and have it set to automatic updates however when i scan for updates it does nothing or simply spins while looking for a update then nothing happens.
Will it automatically update to 3.4 or do i have to use the usb download and install method?

I'm not an expert in these matters. So when I was purchasing my 2019 F-150 Lariat, I had an off record conversation at the dealership. I was on the fence as to get Nav or not with my SYNC 3. His advise was not to spend the money as Google Maps was updated far more often and his opinion was that it performs better as well. So I just plug in my Samsung Android phone and roll on.

I would be interested in hearing from owners that are experienced with both the Android version and the I-Phone versions using SYNC 3 or 4 without Ford Nav. Which do you prefer?

Out of curiosity did the truck you were interested in or he was trying to sell you not have the navigation?
That’s the only reason why I could see a salesman not worried about selling something that’s a little more expensive because of features

Thanks, though not sure I quite understand if this answers the question.

When I go to ford.com or owner.ford.com, it shows "no files available". The original question is if there is some reason why I would be told that, or if there is something wrong in my profile or VIN that makes the ford website think my hardware would not be upgradeable to 3.4. Or is there some other place I am missing?

Most of the other links i've found appear to promote an upgrade that is not sanctioned by Ford, provided by the Russians and hackers....not looking to do that just yet on a 3 month old truck.

I don’t know if something might have changed since I read it But on the other F150 forum someone contacted Ford about that notice for the update and Ford said it was a glitch that somehow got sent out to a lot of people, there is no update. I’m going to see if I can find that thread and I’ll link it on here

I did this bootleg update a week or so ago, I really like the improvements less input delay as well.
I really don’t have any good pictures but here’s a couple I took during the process.

Thank you! I saw some directions. Looks a little tricky and if you screw it up, your truck will no longer work i.e. drive, start, etc. per what a member stated on another post in this forum.

It was crazy simple, my seven-year-old nephew could definitely do it.
Just got to make sure you do a master reset after it’s all said and done which you just select in options

Can you share that 7-year old step by step instructions please? Not being a smart ass, I’ve only seen one how-to and it was all sorts of computer selections and downloads.

Well I guess I should say it’s crazy simple as long as you already have 3.3. If you do it’s just a matter of downloading two different files one on one thumb drive and one on another thumb drive and then inserting the smaller file first then once the screen goes black Inserting larger file.

I should have made a damn video when I did it. Believe me I was really intimidated and I put it off for a while but after doing it it was easy
