I am looking for a new truck and found a new truck that has the exact modes that I want on it.
The truck has a 6" lift, 35" tires, wheels, fender flares. The msrp on the truck is 50,500, they are selling the truck for 37,500. I am happy with that, but they are wanting 9k for the modes and that seems way too much to me. What you guys think? Thanks for any feedback!

Odd that they chose the full black look with the chrome bumpers and tail lights and all, but it looks nicely done, and there's some high dollar stuff on there.

So what are they wanting out the door including mods before tax and title? 46,500?

The quote I got is 46,488 Plus TTL. I agree about the chrome, probably will black out the grill for sure. Seems to me 5k or so for the modes is fair, not almost 9k

Those rims are like 2500-3000 for four up in Canada, plus a lift installed has got to be at least 3000-4500 if its a decent brand, plus the fenders painted are probably 1000 then tires could be another 2000-2500, so around 9000 seems right to me, in Canadian prices that is haha

I don't think that's 9k in mods. I think they are making their profit by telling you it was the mods. I would ask to see receipts. I agree with you that it's closer to 5K. I've been buying stuff for trucks for a long time! That truck is very nice and would most likely be over 40K without mods even on clearance.

On a duramax, my buddy bought it was 10 grand for a 6 inch BDS lift, 20" rims that were fairly cheap fuels, and then 37" tires which were 3200

Yeah MHO is that there's a little wiggle room, but that's a fairly loaded truck and a pretty decent staring price. I would offer 5k for the mods too, just bc it's a 13, and only a select few buyers are likely to come along wanting that exact truck as is. But I also wouldn't feel bad if they came back at 6 or 7 for the mods. Ask for a kicker, maybe get them to install the grille that you want. You can easily black the bumpers later yourself if you choose to

Yea I would for sure talk them down on the the fact that its a 13. Just act like you don't actually want the mods and you just like the truck. You can say "I really like the truck but I can get a 14 Lariat for around the same price minus the mods, the mods don't really matter to me." There is always wiggle room. Also if you are financing through them which is not the best thing to, but if you are make sure and ask them to give you the lower interest rate. Banks will usually give the dealer a lower interest rate and then another rate that is higher that they can try to sell to you. That is why they always ask "Well, how much do you want to pay a month?" That way they can adjust the interest rate to that payment and not what you really qualify for. Once you tell them a payment amount you are pretty much locked in unless you walk out so never sign the little paper they give you when you agree on a monthly price.

Tell them you'll take the mods for 9k if they throw in the truck. Then stay quiet... "he who speaks first looses". works everytime

3000$ + installed lift
1200$+ wheels
1200$+ tires
500$ steps
800$ painted flares

give or take your roughly around 7000$, plus dont forget the running around you'd have to do to get all this stuff. anything less than 7k over the truck I think your laughing.

I would pay 45K out the door for that truck all day long. It's a sweet truck and the mods are a bonus.

Thanks for the advice. Just left the dealer they agreed to go down 1700 off the price of the modes- which makes it around 7300 for all the add ons. I'm holding out for another 1500 or so off the price. We shall see what happens!
