Update:
Bad: the fuel tank skid plate they sent is for an ‘11 - ‘14 F150 36 gallon tank. I have an ‘18. RCI customer service identified the error from photos I sent them. They’re gonna send the right plate and a prepaid return label for me send back the wrong one.
Good: the plate was wrong and not the new tank straps! I don’t have to monkey around supporting the tank to R&R either strap AND I can now fill up the tank! (Been leaving it very, very low for weight reason if I needed to change straps again).

Really good customer service from RCI.

Thats an expensive mistake. Thats big and heavy.

I remember trying to get the skid plate on my jeep into place and its ridiculous. They screwed up the engine skid and we had to do the whole return and reship thing. It was a PITA for me just to get the thing in the box and to USPS.

Installed the new (correct) fuel tank skid plate this morning!

 

That skidplate is something the new $100K+ Raptor R should have been equipped with from the factory. Whatever it weighs, a serious offroad truck needs the gas tank protected.

 

Based on the FedEx package weights claimed on shipping labels, these 5 skid plate pieces added 123 lbs to the total truck weight. Something to consider if you’re into max payload or towing capacity.

Engine 2 piece = 50 lbs.*
Transmission and transfer case = 38 lbs.*
Fuel tank = 35 lbs.
Total = 123 lbs.

* I may have swapped weights on these?
Note: New tank straps = 4 lbs but they replaced existing so I’m not counting this into total.

I can't see you mention if you bought the steel or aluminum skid plate, I'm assuming 120ish lbs would be steel?

Yes. I got the steel plates.

 

Today I added the RCI catalytic converter guard “wings” to my transmission skid plate.
I had to retrofit the trans skid plate by removing it, marking spots for the wing’s bolt holes and then drilling out to 3/8” holes (8x). Was a pain in my back. Broke 3 bits, had the drill lock and swing into my family jewels (twice) and then had to sand vacuum up all the tiny metal flakes. But I got it done!
The orange you see in the pictures is the Cat Strap on my exhaust. Notice you don’t see the cats themselves - these wings really cover them up extremely well.

edit - update of total weight of these RCI skid plates:

Engine 2 piece = 50 lbs.*
Transmission and transfer case = 38 lbs.*
Fuel tank = 35 lbs.
Cat wings = 14 lbs.
Total = 137 lbs.
