I discovered yesterday the relay and fuse for the Trailer Tow Battery charger Relay and related 30A fuse were not put in the box of fuses in the engine compartment. I found them in an unopened package in the door of the truck.
I had already pulled a trailer nearly 2000 miles.
What does the relay and fuse do? Do they allow the truck alternator to charge the trailer battery while driving? Does it protect the truck should something short out at the trailer battery? Was any harm done not having them in the fuse box?
I have put them in now.
