vibration, try u-joints?

I've got a weird vibration above 65mph. It smooths out as soon as I let off the gas.

I bought the truck a few months ago and it seemed to come and go. I've had the dealer and Firestone look at it and both of them tell me everything looks good. I replaced the tires as they were miss-matched and I hoped that would fix it but it still does it.

The U-joints appear to be fine by shaking and turning the drive shaft but I'm thinking it's probably worth replacing them, maybe that'll fix the vibration, the truck has 133k miles and they appear to be original.

Which brand do I replace them with? Do I stick with OEM from the dealer or can I get the Spicer from O'Reilly's/Amazon?

May need the driveshaft balanced, but start with the u joints. Guessing you don't have a carrier bearing?

Stick with OEM everything.

I do have a carrier bearing. Do I need to replace that at the same time?
I did mine a while back to chase a vibration... turned out I failed to torque the lug nuts, oops! Used OEM u-joints... It was a bit of a pain and staring at that sticker on the aluminum one-piece drive shaft did not help relieve any stress.

Sounds like you've got the 2-piece with a carrier bearing.

If you pull the shaft, be sure to get the lube kit from ford for your slip yoke. Its cheap

Probably worth your time to replace all of it.

One caveat if you're DIY-ing, idk if you need to press the carrier bearing on/off the driveshaft.

My old Tahoe had a similar issue. We put it on the hoist and the u joint basically disintegrated. Right as rain after we fixed that.
