this morning I did a 1/4 mile pull and just lost power a couple seconds into it. I was datalogging so I got some great info but I can not figure out why my wastegate just opened all the way up and dropped my boost. I didn't include it in the ss below but I just went back and the bov also dumped. I am not seeing anything in the sources in my logs that throw out a red flag so I was hoping someone would give me something to look for.

the good stuff is that I maintained over 10 degrees of timing advance through the run, except for when i dumped my boost and it jumped up to 20 degrees. spark source went from base to borderline at the same time. the truck seemed to get right back into it after.

no misfires, max knock was 1.6 or so, it looked pretty good to me. I just can't figure out what triggered the bov/ wastegate

thoughts appreciated

You went into limp mode for some reason. I’ve had that happen before. Basically dumps the wastegate. Did you have boost after your pull or was it completely nuked till you restarted the truck?

I finished the run, thats the dragy I posted this morning. Checked codes and nothing was there but my trusty 420 and 430. Was just a blip and didn't even register an unusual source code, at least not one that I am recording. Spark, torque, and fuel codes are the ones I am looking at. What other ones should I include in the logger?

The bov didn't open till halfway down that trough so whatever it was started before the bov kicked out.

Is there an airflow PID or airflow limit source?

it wasn't limp mode it just decided to be naturally aspirated for a second, lol. I guess I have no choice but to log another 1/4 next week and see if it does it again. I haven't seen anything like that in my logs before and I will also look for source code pids I missed, like that airflow limit.

Stumbled the 3-4 shift? I've had that happen ocaisionally, finally considered it a glitch as it mostly stopped happening. KM

I was also going to mention airflow limit source. I dont see that on the list but it may be up higher

im wondering if you hit the airflow limit that tells the pcm it lost control of the wastegate
