What can I expect from moving to a Ford Ranger from a F150?

A ranger raptor is surprisingly 5500+ lbs and could very well be heavier than your current F150 unless the F150 is absolutely fully loaded. The ranger also benefits from a 5 link coil spring rear axle, which I likely more stable. And then on top of that it has the Live Valve shocks which can adjust dampening from the cabin.

I have a 5500 lb travel trailer and towed it 25000+ miles with my 2014 Supercrew 6.5’ bed with Max Tow. It did well stability wise. But now I have an LX570 with a measly 112” wheelbase and I have towed the same trailer about 6000 miles with it. I even have the same exact tires on my LX as my F150 had. It has a 5 link Coil suspension with adjustable dampening from the drivers seat just like the Raptor. Stock vs stock, the LX570 is far better towing my trailer. The F150 needed Bilsteins 5100’s, air bags and a rear Hellwig swaybar to be on par.

The shorter wheelbase may mean the raptor wanders a little more, but that will be true with or without a trailer. The incredibly short 112” wheelbase of my LX has not resulted in a lack of stability with the trailer

I wonder what the cooling situation would be with the 2.7 or 3.0 Ranger given the smaller frontal area. Can't have much radiator square footage, reminiscent of the 12th gen F150 cooling issues.
im not sure on this generation, but the previous generation had a bigger radiator than my 2014 Max tow and a mechanical cooling fan.

Aftermarket 17” wheels will be lighter I think. I’ve got a set of methods and 315/70R17 Territory MT’s that only weight 78 lbs. I think you could get that down to 65 lbs with some regular old SL tires

And methods are not even that light. Just lighter than some other aftermarket wheels and probably lighter than stock wheels

2011-2014 Max Tow vs Ranger radiator. Ignore the core thickness and volume since this is from Mishimoto, but the height and width should be right. Its more in line with the 2015+ radiators :

2018 Max Tow rad wonder if it would fit in my 2017 if it ever decides to go.
Yes, it should physically fit as I believe they kept the same radiator design from 2015 all the way to 2020. The only problem would be that it might not have the transmission cooler in the radiator end tank.
