I have a 2014 (Dec/14 purchase) F150 Ecoboost, 2600 miles. Having an engine miss and surge on cold engine idle; dealer replaced low-pressure fuel pump in the gas tank, which did not fix the problem. Now, additionally, I have engine surging (strong/weak/strong, etc.) cycling on warm engine acceleration -- it is causing poorly timed shifting. Not an operational problem, but I know it's not right. Dealer says, "Huh! I can't feel it, you need to put more miles on it."
Strange, sounds like a bad plug or coil to me. Has it done it since new?

I am onto my 3rd Ecoboost truck now. I've had the following go wrong.

2011 F-150 Eco #1 Bought New.
- CAC stumble/miss fixed with TSB
- Pass speaker cut out from water in door - never fixed.

2011 F-150 Eco #2 Bought Used (60,000km)
- Timing chain rattle/failure. (came back after repair)
- Alternator replaced.
- CAC fail/stumble miss fixed with TSB
- Coil and Plug replacement.
- Fuel in Oil TSB
- New catalytic converter
- Traded this thing for my 2014...

2014 F-150 Eco #3 Bought New
- bubbles in paint in drivers rocker.
- body shop got clearcoat spray all over drivers side (ugghhh)
- Steering wheel clock spring failure and SCCM circuit failure. Waiting on replacement parts.

I still like my truck.

That's the ticket, qb! Still like ye truck! For the problems, I think things like alternator, paint, etc. should not be included for Ecoboost, since they are not really Ecoboost related.

Yes, I still like my truck. Alternator and paint were not Ecoboost related but the problems did occur on the Ecoboost truck so included them. My 2014 was built on October 14th 2014 so 4 days after the timing chain TSB states for affected trucks. I've only got about 3000km on it so far so we'll see what this one brings me!

LOVE my 'Boost.... 16000 miles, no issues at all. Tuned around 1000 miles and haven't looked back. Lifetime average (I reset mileage #2 counter as I was leaving the lot) is 15.5 (almost ALL city and I have a really heavy foot). I towed a 3000 pound pop-up camper out of Phoenix this week, went from 1200 feet, through canyons climbing up to 6200 feet over the course of 160 miles, almost never flat... in and out of tow/haul mode, speeds between 25 and 65.. trip up, averaged 15.3. Trip back down averaged 18.2..... Love this truck. By far my favorite vehicle I've ever owned.
On tanks where I've tried to drive slower (its really hard on my truck LOL) I usually average 17 and change.
