What is "Quiet Start" option?

I've turned this option on/off and can't figure out a difference. It is part of the menu for the remote start.

The Quiet Start feature enables a lower warm-up RPM when you use the remote start.

Having this feature OFF when you remote start it, the engine will start and idle at about 900 RPM to warm up faster. When you turn it ON and use the remote start, it will idle lower - about 500 RPM, and warm up a bit slower and is a bit quieter.

That's all it does.

Thanks, you'd think the owner's manual would explain something like that!

Hmm my manual and the online manual do talk about it. They say it makes the fan run quieter and keeps the horn from sounding (like if you try to remote start with the hood open)... Doesn't talk about altering the idle speed.

Hmmm, maybe I missed that little section when I was looking for it. Since it's a main menu option I would think it would have a little more of an attention grabber in the manual. But thank for posting that up.

That's weird because my truck doesn't honk either way when it fails to start.

Mine doesn't make any noise either. I even verified the quiet start is off.
