After being so impressed with my dad's new MaxTow Screw....I went and started looking today to possibly trade up my 2012 Mustang GT for one. I was looking at a leftover 2013 FX2 crew, FULLY LOADED with the 3.31 e-locker. The only option not there was the sunroof. I know I can get a decent deal on it and I do have an 11sec 95GT street car sitting in the garage if I ever feel the need for speed but I'm not as sure as I was when I went into the dealership lol. I know that only I can answer my own questions here....just looking for some input

I used to have 2 mustangs. Had a mid 10 second 94 GT and an 00 GT. Both are now gone and all I have is my 13 FX4 screw. I love this truck. I can do whatever whenever I want. Tow, haul, pile all my buddies in it, go hunting, grocery getter and still rip off mid 13 second time slips. Fun as hell to drive. I say do it. My next mustang will likely be an 03-04 cobra.

i have had an F-150 in my possession since about 1995 because i use the truck to haul or tow and cant do that with a mustang, i have seen people put a tow hitch on a mustang but i cant convince myself that towing a boat 165 miles with a mustang is a good idea.
so my opinion is do you want to play or do you want something useful that can take the family camping or fishing on the weekend.
i do have a 71 chevelle setting in the yard that would go fast if that is all i wanted to do and look good.

Agreed, 3.73 rear end and if you ever decide to lift or run bigger tires you will be glad you did?

I like you have the same desire. Both the truck and a sports car. My sports car '09 G8 GT was taken from me by a '03 Escort crossing traffic on a yielded yellow. Somehow he simply missed visually spotting me oncoming through the intersection.

Good thing you have options. Best option is to have vehicles that are paid off.

Unless you have a need for a truck, my preference would be to stick with the Mustangs you have.

Now if you have something to haul and or people to haul occasionally the trucks sure do offer the space.

The trucks for the most part are notably more expensive.

Your choice and decision, have fun with whatever you choose.

I had an 03 cobra and had to sell it. If it was an option for me I would have another 03 or 04 cobra and have a beater 4x4 for the winter. I LOVE my F150 but the only reason I have it instead of my terminator is because I need to be able to tow my camper

That's my dream car and hope to get one here in the next year or so...it might be tough to find an unmolested one though

I had to let mine go cheap due to an emergency situation. It was as close to unmolested as you will probably find. It had a full stereo done and a cone filter in place of the stock airbox and that was it. 03 redfire metallic convertible with 42k miles. I still miss it badly and am still mad at my wife for causing the "situation" that made me sell, and its been 2 years this month

Very nice. I used to have an 03 GT wih a bunch of bolt-ons. About twice a month I just search on YouTube just to hear that damn supercharger whine

There was nothing like the sound of that cobra when I was all over it. Especially after I put the cone filter on it

The SN95 Cobras were a performance bargain really. Much like the G8 GT's. Just a great value price point with a platform capable of easy to obtain potential.

I traded my 2013 Shelby for my F150 FX2. The Shelby basically sat in the garage. No one but me could drive it anyways and I'm on the road traveling more than I am home. I have a company car so the Shelby was a $65k garage queen.

That mustang must have gotten horrible mileage. my cobra got 5mpg better than my Screw. Im not happy with the mileage Im getting at all

We only seemed to average 14 in the city but I commute 52 miles a day(both back roads and city) and never seemed to get better the 14,15 mpg's. With the truck I'm averaging 17mpg doing same commute

Wow, thats bad mileage. my supercharged cobra got a solid 19. my ecoboost gets 14

I traded my '11 Mustang GT for a '12 Audi S4...then traded the Audi for the '13 FX2. I miss the sound if the mustang, the cornering ability of the S4, and wouldn't trade the truck for both! I'm getting only 2mpg worse than either car, 17.3 average combined city/hwy...running 87 octane. I have more room, more creature comforts (see heated AND cooled seats), and can carry/haul anything I want. For me, the truck was the right choice...finally.

The dash board reminds me of my 07 gt Mustang. When I smash the skinny pedal I feel like I'm still in the GT. Can't beat the Eco beast!
