I am four weeks into my new f150 ecoboost, 2013. I was cleaning the windshield and noticed that the vertical edges are recessed 1/4 inch. It looks like it might be missing weather stripping or something. Is it normal to have such deep grooves on the side of the windshield?

Thanks!

I would have asked the dealership, but they only know how to respond with, "Just bring it in at your convenience." It's an hour drive, so not convenient.

It's recessed about 1/3". Here is a photo of my passenger side:

Thanks for the response! It is a strange design. Every vehicle I have ever had was basically smooth between the windshield and body of truck. When using the squeegee it is very obvious as the rubber blade gets caught in the grooves. But anyhow, thanks!
