I didn’t really just want a console swap just for looks so I did an add a circuit fuse in location 38. Manual says that is for 110V power point which I don’t have. It shuts off voltage when you open door. The other two 12V plugs stay hot all the time. I ran the new circuit to the 12V plug in the console and to the back of the console. I’m going to remove the 110V plug and replace it with a USB-A / C lighted charging plug. This way I’ll have functional options hooked to the console.

Thank you fanaticalkilla for advising me to get that other end of the plug. With that I was able to wire right to the plug and not mess with console wires and I can unplug it when necessary.

Never hurts to take extra parts. This looks it’s coming together well.

I haven’t thought about it.
I like mine as it provides an option to lock up wife's purse, kiddo's electronic stuff, firearms and anything of value when we park away from home. You will lose the removeable top tray inside the console, but I wasn't using it anyway. Inside, you'll still have a cavernous space to drop just about anything. The safe lid does look like a smaller opening, but an older larger iPad, my 14' laptop and my wife's 200lb purse all seem to fit through when we need to drop them in there.

Ford sells these - as does Console Vault. I looked at the Console vault site - sold out. Ford site shows them. If you have Ford points it might offset the price. Can be found elsewhere too; maybe even pre-owned on eBay?

Those look great. I mean, when was the last time you got into a buddy’s truck and said “dude, your trim pieces way down here by my knees are a little off”?

There is a front bracket that mounts to the floor. I chose not to attach it to the floor because I didn’t want to cut a section of my carpet out to mount it. Also I couldn’t verify it, but the mount uses rivi nuts on the floor. I couldn’t see if those were there as the carpet was covering it. But there was tape over the holes.

I did mount the bracket to the console because it holds it up so it aligns to the dash better.

Honestly the console is rock solid just sitting on the floor bracket and I haven’t bolted it on yet.

You can see the rivi nut
You are correct. They are riv nuts. M8 for reference. The holes are empty in the non console trucks. I did install the riv nuts and used the M8 bolts that came out of the donor truck.
