The miles to empty will change based on your driving habits.

Thanks guys. Does this somehow affect the fuel gauge as well? Not sure how that would be, but I know I put in no where close to 1/2 tank worth of gas but that's what the needle shows. This isn't my DD and I think I've only filled the tank up maybe twice so far.
In the two trucks I've owned, (last one had a 22 gal tank) I've noticed the half of the gauge from 1/2 to E always seems to fall faster than from full to 1/2. Not sure why, but think it might have to do with the gas sloshing around in the tank a lot more because it's half empty and the sending unit will only react so fast.

Also when going up or down steep grades my fuel level can shift 1/4 or more.

Either way I don't think you have have a problem and I wouldn't worry.
