Yes it is PC based and free. Get the extended license as well (also free). You'll need a laptop running windows(I'm using XP). I use a USB OBDII adaptor and I find it works very well. Look for one with the HS/MS switch. Not absolutely necessary but will be needed in the future if you want to modify other parameters that run on the MS CAN network. Lots of help on the forums here and on the FORScan forums.

Can you make these changes by connecting a laptop with Forscan to one of the OBDlink LX bluetooth adapters? Or does it have to be a hard wired OBD2 connector?
As long as your laptop has bluetooth, either built in, or with a bluetooth USB dongle.

Anybody know the mod for 2016?

Just ordered the necessary OBD Bluetooth dongle and downloaded the software.

That was a piece of cake.

Now, if I could have the same luck with fixing my LED Frt/Rear hyper flash issue.
Its not the actual signals, but rather the dash indicators.

Apparently, its the same line of code that you change to activate Fogs w/High Beams, but its not changing the dash indicator hyperflash.

I know on the 13-14 you don't have to change the line of code for the hyperflash issue.
There's an option window under BCM (not in the as built line) that allows you to turn off the lamp outage, front and/or rear.

I just ordered my ELM USB-OBDII adapter. I have been reading up on FORScan and looks like it can do a number of things I would like to change, including turning off TPMS (my winter tires do not have a sensor). Also, a buddy has a Ford Fusion and he's interested in changing a few things too.

One question, if you make changes with FORScan when your PCM is tuned, will restoring the stock tune reverse all the changes? Or does FORScan alter a different part of the PCM that is unaffected whether you are tuned or not?

pretty cool stuff.

what about being able to have fogs on when turning on the parking lights? my 16 Ram had this feature. it basically acted like a physical switch, and if you had fogs on when it was last running, fogs came back on with the parking lights the next time around.

I like being able to just turn the knob, without having to then press the fog light button. small change, but its a nice feature to have.

I seem to have a issue. I have made the changes in my 2016 limited and can not get the fog lights to stay on. Any one have this issue?

Sorry for the late reply Grim. The Forscan changes will not be affected by any SCT tune change.

That's because the 15- up use a different line for the changes.

I don't think that's possible.
