I took my '21 F150 into Planet Ford (north of Houston) on July 30th for the intake valve recall. I was told it would take 7-10 days as there were a few ahead of me. Ok, what can you do?

So I left the truck and 11 days later I got a call. The truck passed the valve inspection but both valve covers needed new gaskets. As it was still under the 5 year warranty, it was no cost.

They ordered the gaskets and they were late arriving. But then on a Saturday I got a call and said one of the valve covers was warped and it needed replacement. Again, no cost but the part was late arriving.

Finally, 21 days later I picked up the truck. Before I drove off I raised the hood. WOW, the engine compartment was like it came from the factory!!! Honestly, someone spent a lot of effort for sure!

Yes, its a shame it had to take so long, and that the 2.7 has plastic valve covers and pan. But, the entire process cost me Zero, and I got an oil/filter change as well.

Have to say, I do love the truck, and am so happy to have it back.
