Same here. Showing up for my truck. Do we have to wait for the recall or can we be pro-active?

It happened to my truck about a month ago and I got it fixed pretty crazy when you’re driving down the road and all the sudden your truck locks up and tires screech and before you know it you’re in first gear 12 screw f150 4x4 ecoboost luckily it was all covered

That has the potential to be terrifying if you are in traffic or going fast. I usually cruise on the highway going 85

Good to know. I based my answer off of my interpretation of the verbiage in the recall:

Remedy Program: OWNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL AND INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLE TO A FORD OR LINCOLN DEALER TO HAVE THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMED.

Im not too fond of my Ford dealer. Hasn't been terrible but not good. I did get my way though. When I went in for IWE replacement I had to explain to the service manager how the IWE functioned and what part to look for after saying everything was fine. 2 hours later he calls and said they found the issues and were replacing the IWE unit in the hub

As an FYI, this "Downshift" recall came out in April of 2016 for the 2011-2013 F150s

My 2013 wasn't part of that recall but it is part of this recall. When I schedule my appointment im going to ask about the lead frame recall as well.

there is no lead frame recall, only an extended coverage on the 11-early mid 12 MY

Just had @Boostking explain that it's a combined PCM. Meaning this transmission reflash will indeed change your ECU strategy as well.

Does that include changes in the other strat code updates? I believe it would. Any fixes they issued in software updates would most likely be grouped up inside this one. So it would be the most current trans and engine flash.
